    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods related to port arbitration of a memory system are described. A memory system can receive a first number of transactions and a second transaction from a first traffic stream and a third number of transactions and a fourth transaction from a second traffic stream. The memory system can process the first number of transactions at least partially concurrently with the third number of transactions. Responsive to a total quantity of transactions of the first number of transactions and the second transaction being at least a threshold quantity of transactions, the second transaction can be processed by the memory system and, subsequent to processing the second transaction, the fourth transaction can be processed by the memory system.

When a selected gate is transformed during optimization, it causes a slack value at a pin of the transformed gate to change. The change in the slack value, called the delta-slack, is then propagated through a transitive fanin cone and a transitive fanout cone of the transformed gate to compute the new slack values at all the affected pins of the design. Some embodiments update slack values without propagating arrival and required times, and also without repeatedly evaluating timing arcs to compute gate delays. The updated slack values can be used to compute timing metrics. The timing metrics can be used to decide whether or not to commit the gate transformation to the circuit design.

    Abstract: A method and a system is disclosed for managing distribution of computer-executable program threads between a plurality of central processing units (CPUs) administered by an operating system in a multi-CPU computer system having a plurality of memory caches shared amongst the CPUs. The method includes assigning the CPUs to a plurality of CPU-groups of a predetermined group-size, selecting a CPU-group form the CPU-groups, setting a predetermined threshold for the selected CPU-group, and affinitizing a program thread to the selected CPU-group based on the predetermined threshold wherein the operating system distributes the program threads among the CPU-groups based on the affinitizing. In this way, the memory access time delays associated with the transfer of data amongst the CPU-groups can be advantageously reduced while the ability to more effectively utilize the total number of available CPUs in the processing of the program threads is advantageously increased.
