  • Publication number: 20240099213
Abstract: Provided here are methods of using a mutated patatin-like phospholipase II? (“pPLAII?,” renamed here MATRILINEAL) to induce haploid induction in plants, cloning a pPLAII? to induce haploid induction in plants, and genetically engineering a plant to contain a mutated pPLAII?. Also provided are methods of applying topical and spray chemicals, lipids, and RNAi molecules to plants during pollination in order to induce haploid production. Further provided are methods of chemically treating plants during pollination to induce haploids while also reducing embryo abortion and increasing seed set.

  • Patent number: 6442856
Abstract: An expandable tool for laying out and marking predetermined angular layout lines on a work surface. The tool is comprised of a first leg (202), second leg (204), and hypotenuse leg (206) which are assembled by the user such that the intersection of the first and second leg form the desired angle as defined by the hypotenuse (206). The general shape of the assembled tool will normally be a triangle. Each leg of the tool can consist of a single leg portion (or member), or alternatively, each leg can be made up of more than one leg portion. The ends of each leg are fitted with a fastening mechanism (214) for connecting the leg portions together. The tool can be made to various sizes by the addition and deletion of leg portions. Additionally, the tool can be disassembled to facilitate compact transport to subsequent work sites.

  • Patent number: 6158134
Abstract: The present invention entails an equipment leveling device comprising a leveling head having a leveling instrument incorporated therein and a series of spaced apart support legs secured to the leveling head and projecting radially therefrom for engaging an object to be leveled and for supporting the leveling head adjacent the object during the leveling process. In the embodiment disclosed, each of the support legs is adjustable in length such that the leveling device can accommodate structures and objects of various size.

  • Patent number: 5154298
Abstract: A system for mechanically sorting pickle chips with holes from those without holes. Pickle chips with holes are hooked on rotating hooks, separated out, gravity dropped off the hooks and conveyed to a location where they are processed into relish. The hooks face in direction opposite to their rotation and away from the chip infeed direction. The pickle chips without holes (the good chips) are accordingly not hooked and are sent to another location where they are packaged as pickle chips.

  • Patent number: 4150517
Abstract: A replaceable corner molding for a corner formed by two walls each having a planar surface meeting the other perpendicularly, has a base member consisting of an elongated strip affixed to the meeting walls. The base member is of L-shaped cross-section and has a projecting strip extending from the inside surfaces of its legs at their area of intersection and equiangularly spaced from the inner surface. A head strip of circular cross-section is provided at the free end of the projecting strip farthest from the base member. A molding member consists of an elongated strip of L-shaped cross-section having a slot of circular cross-section extending along its length at the area of intersection of its legs, equiangularly spaced from the outer surfaces of the legs for accommodating the head strip of the projecting strip of the base member. The slot has a narrow neck part for releasably securing the head strip in the slot.
