Abstract: An introducer assembly introduces an elongate member into a tubular structure and may be configured into ready, introduced, and detached modes. The introducer assembly has a guide tube, a slide collar, and proximal and distal connector assemblies. The guide tube has a proximal body, and a distal portion, the distal portion being rotatably connected to the proximal body. The slide collar has a grip, a slide post, and a centered capture structure. The proximal connector assembly is detachably nested within the centered capture structure. The distal connector assembly is detachably nested within the distal portion and is connectable to the tubular structure. The introducer assembly may be converted from the ready mode to the introduced mode to the detached mode by manual manipulation to introduce and secure the elongate member within the connected tubular structure, and then detach the guide tube leaving the elongate member within the connected tubular structure.

Abstract: An electromagnetic radiation (EMR) delivery system for delivering EMR at wavelengths, intensities, exposures, and durations to locations inside and/or outside a patient's body in, on, and surrounding a tubular structure such as a tube, catheter, and/or a catheter extension to prevent, reduce, and/or eliminate infectious agents in, on, or surrounding the tubular structure. A smart light engine box generates the therapeutic EMR, controls treatments, and monitors the health of the system. A fiber optic disposable, introduced and positioned by an introducer assembly, makes at-home use of the EMR delivery system possible. Specific embodiments of the EMR delivery system for use with peritoneal dialysis catheters, dialysis accesses, and hemodialysis accesses are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is a liquid filter that includes a removable filter cartridge that is easily accessible for quick, easy replacement, the filter being installed directly adjacent to or preferably in direct contact with the sink itself utilizing the opening originally intended for the spray attachment on the sink, or, where there is no opening for a spray attachment, by adding a small hole to access the liquid supply below the countertop, the filter being designed to sit entirely on top of the sink flange or countertop immediately adjacent to the sink and containing an integral faucet for dispensing filtered liquid, along with an integral actuator or switch to control the flow of filtered liquid.

Abstract: A tripod device and system for mounting a camera and tracking movable objects includes a base with a camera mount, a processor, a user interface, actuators for rotating and tilting the camera mount, and a plurality of pendants. Each pendant includes a transmitter for transmitting a unique signal for receipt by a receiver in communication with the processor. The processor includes programming for determining the direction of a signaling pendant and for moving the camera mount to follow a selected pendant. The user interface enables a user to select a mode of operation, such as tracking a selected pendant, alternating between two or more pendants, or facing an area having the most pendants. Each pendant includes a receiver and a visual indicator for indicating when it is the active subject pendant. This invention provides for taping a birthday party having multiple persons to be taped according to selected modes.

Abstract: The invention is an improved carafe or water pitcher for the treatment of drinking and cooking water which uses multiple filters to treat the water to remove heavy metals, organics (especially VOC's), taste and odor.

Abstract: A faucet mounted filter device includes a horizontally disposed cylindrical part for housing a replaceable filter cartridge and a horizontally disposed arm part extending radially from the cylindrical part which has a connector on its upper side for releasable connection to a downwardly discharging water faucet. A window is provided in the cylindrical part through which the water filtration capacity gallonage is visible. A built in microprocessor with a counter delivers data to a read-out at the front end of the cylindrical part which displays the gallonage of water filtered by the filter cartridge. A sensor connected to the microprocessor senses flow of filter water and installation and removal of the cartridge causes the counter to start counting and to return to zero, respectively.

Abstract: A two piece plastic support is provided for a plastic mailbox, which upon installation surrounds a support post mounted in the ground. The two pieces are substantially reverse images of one another with confronting post receiving channels on their inward sides. The channels are dimensioned to accomodate warped or slightly over size posts. Corresponding sides of the channels have protuberances, which stabilize the post within the channel. Abutting pockets in the inner and outer walls of each of the pieces aligned openings for fasteners.

Abstract: A plastic mailbox has a postal compartment mounted on top of a newspaper compartment which in turn is mounted on top of a two piece upright plastic support. The laterally opposite side wall structures and arched top structure of the postal compartment and the laterally opposite side wall structures and the bottom structure of the newspaper compartment have inner and outer walls for strength. The postal compartment is strengthened by a pair of longitudinally extending rows of upward bulges or pockets in the arched ceiling segment of the inner wall of its arched top structure. The postal compartment are further strengthened by a forward projecting lip encircling forward end of the mailbox. A partial wall at the rear of the newspaper compartment serves as a newspaper stop and as a reinforcing structure.

Abstract: A plastic mailbox of modular construction includes a postal compartment and a newspaper compartment. The postal compartment includes a floor component which serves as a roof for a newspaper compartment positioned beneath the postal compartment. The postal compartment floor serves as an interconnecting member between the postal compartment and the newspaper compartment and is hidden from view by having its laterally opposite sides disposed in registering recesses formed in the side walls of the postal and newspaper compartments. A partial rear wall in the newspaper compartment serves as a stop for newspapers inserted into the open ended newspaper compartment.

Abstract: A mailbox is provided with a rain intercepting structure which includes a groove in a shoulder formed on the laterally opposite sides and the top of the mailbox door and a ridge on the inside of the mailbox doorway in juxtaposed registration with the groove. Moisture impacting the ridge is diverted to the groove and drains out its bottom ends, thus protecting the mail against rain damage.

The support may be formed of two side by side pieces, which are maintained in assembly by the tongue and grove connection. The two pieces of the support may have mating protrusions and pockets preventing sideway displacement of the support pieces from one another.

Abstract: An elongated vertical plastic ground mount post for mailboxes is provided having an upper portion suitable for supporting a mailbox, as by insertion into a hollow support column of a plastic mailbox, and a lower portion with vertically spaced notches which serve to retain the post in place in the ground when earth is compacted against the lower portion.

Abstract: The invention relates to a parenteral therapeutic agent delivery device. The therapeutic agent delivery device has a disposable section and an implant section suitable for long term implantation within the tissue of a subject. When necessary, the disposable section can be detached from the implant section, and a new disposable section can be attached. The disposable section may contain a reservoir containing the therapeutic agent, a pump for dispensing the therapeutic agent, controlling circuitry for regulating the dispensing of the therapeutic agent, and transceiver circuitry and an antenna for wireless communication with external devices.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for monitoring hydration. In one implementation, a method includes measuring an electrical impedance of a region of a subject to generate an impedance measurement result, and wirelessly transmitting the data to a remote apparatus. The probe with which impedance is measured may in the form of a patch adhesively secured to the subject.

Abstract: A box shaped merchandising container includes a product information panel which is exposed when a cover is removed from one end of an enclosure. The information panel is disposed at a corner of a rectangular open end of the enclosure and is dimensioned to permit flat merchandise, such as home type air filters, to be withdrawn from the enclosure without destructive effect on the information panel.
