  • Patent number: 11910995
Abstract: The application relates to the problem of navigating a surgical instrument (at 301, 311) towards a region-of-interest (at 312) in endoscopic surgery when an image (300) provided by the endoscope is obscured at least partly by obscuring matter (at 303), wherein the obscuring matter is a leaking body fluid, debris or smoke caused by ablation. To address this problem, a computer-implemented method is proposed, wherein, upon detecting that the image from the endoscope is at least partly obscured, a second image is determined based on a sequence of historic images and based on the current position and orientation of the endoscope. Furthermore, a virtual image (310) is generated based on the determined second image.

  • Patent number: 7266622
Abstract: A buffer accessible by an application executing under an application server in a first address space is managed by a database adapter executing in a second address space. A data request from the application executing in said first address space, comprising a buffer locator in the empty state, is received by the database adapter executing in the second address space. A buffer is allocated in the first address space and the address of this buffer is stored in the buffer locator. Data associated with the data request, received from a database subsystem, is copied to the buffer. Control is then transferred back to the application whereby the application utilizes the buffer locator to access the buffer and process the data contained therein. A database adapter automatically managing application buffers across address spaces in accordance with the present invention may be referred to as an “auto-buffer database adapter”.

  • Publication number: 20030035097
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for locating an object by using a laser range finder are disclosed, and more particularly relates to a method and an apparatus that can increase distance and accuracy of measuring object without increasing laser emitting power. Since noise is existent randomly, through the statistics theorem, it is known that an accurate distance between the laser range finder and the measured object can be measured and obtained by repeatedly performing measurements and accumulatively adding the result obtained from each measurement. Hence, by utilizing the present invention, an accurate distance between the laser range finder and the measured object can be measured without increasing the emitting laser power, and even if the measurement is performed under a noisy situation.

  • Patent number: 5794418
Abstract: A pallet stretch wrapping machine includes a turntable attached to a lower portion of a column for supporting an article to be wrapped thereon. A frame is vertically movably mounted in the column and includes an upper housing, a lower housing, and a vertical wall connecting between the upper and lower housings. A plurality of upright rollers are rotatably mounted between the upper and lower housings. An upright post is fixedly mounted on the lower housing for supporting a spool. A roll of resilient film is wrapped around the spool and extends through each of the rollers which can co-operate to deliver the roll of resilient film to envelop the article by turning the turntable. A velocity adjusting mechanism is mounted between the upper and lower housings for adjusting a rotational velocity of each of the rollers for delivering the roll of resilient film.
