  • Patent number: 11851857
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to coupling device and valve assembly for use with accessing the water flow in a fire hydrant. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to various coupling device and valve assemblies which are used as a quick connect and disconnect of a fire hose to the hydrant. Additionally, it is advantageous that the coupling device and valve assemblies also provide a self-sealing valve feature, which immediately stops the flow of water when the hose is disconnected from the hydrant. An advantage provided by the present coupling device and valve assemblies is that should a primary valve on a hydrant become unusable, the fire hose can be quickly disconnected from that hydrant and reconnected to a second hydrant without requiring a shutdown of the water grid feeding the disconnected hydrant.

  • Publication number: 20230182156
Abstract: A pump dispenser has a pump body and a reciprocable plunger with a lock-down mechanism, comprising internal or external lock formations of the plunger and body, such as thread formations, by which the plunger can be locked down for shipping and released subsequently by a rotational release movement. To supplement security for demanding shipping conditions the dispenser also has a supplementary catch mechanism in which respective catch formations of the plunger and body engage selectively in the locked-down position to inhibit the rotational release movement. The catch formations may have circumferentially-directed surfaces which engage between the underside of a plunger head having a shroud and a nozzle and the top of the body beneath the plunger head. They can be released by resilient deformation of one or more of the catch formations.

  • Patent number: 11168448
Abstract: An eccentric assembly for a compaction machine may include an outer eccentric mass and first and second inner eccentric masses. A length of the outer eccentric mass is in a direction of an axis of rotation of the outer eccentric mass. The first inner eccentric mass is rotatably connected to the outer eccentric mass by a first joint, and the second inner eccentric mass is rotatably connected to the outer eccentric mass by a second joint. Moreover, the first and second inner eccentric masses are separate, and the first and second joints are separate. Related compaction machines are also discussed.

  • Patent number: 11097151
Abstract: A locking device for an exercise system may include a locking member having a contact portion and configured to move between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the contact portion of the locking member is not in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system, thereby allowing movement of the at least one moveable assembly. When in the second position, the contact portion of the locking member is in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism of the exercise system, thereby preventing movement of the at least one moveable assembly.

  • Patent number: 11047505
Abstract: A quick connect coupling mechanism joins an actuator to a bonnet. The quick connect coupling mechanism may utilize machined or otherwise prepared components including one or more specific features, such as slots or grooves, to facilitate a connection between the actuator and the bonnet. For example, the actuator housing may be machined or formed to include an opening to enable radial insertion of the bonnet into a slot formed circumferentially about at least a portion of the actuator housing. The opening may be secured to block radial movement of the bonnet within the housing. A rail system may also be utilized to couple the actuator housing to the bonnet. For example, pairs of grooves may be formed in the actuator housing and bonnet to facilitate insertion of rails. The rails may block both axial movement of the actuator housing and also block rotational movement.

  • Publication number: 20210140464
Abstract: This invention relates to a support for a gudgeon. It is known to hang gates on posts by way of gudgeons. Over time the load and movement of the gate may cause the gudgeon to loosen. In this regard the hole that the gudgeon is screwed into becomes ‘over-sized’ due to wear and tear. This may necessitate replacing the gudgeon, or screwing it into another part of the post. It is an object of a preferred embodiment of the invention to address this problem. In this regard there is a support having a hub and a series of spikes. The gudgeon passes through the hub and the spikes are imbedded in a post. The arrangement is such that the support 1 takes up at least some tipping force on the gudgeon.

  • Patent number: 10962027
Abstract: A liquid suction pump comprising: a drive pipe to receive a liquid drive flow for the pump; a liquid conduit with first and second liquid delivery arms to provide pumped liquid, and a connecting valve arrangement between the arms. First and second pump inlets to the arms have respective first and second one-way inlet valves. The valve arrangement has a valve inlet coupled to the drive pipe and valve outlets coupled to the arms to alternately close off a liquid connection between the valve inlet and respective arms. A compliant element is coupled to the drive pipe. The drive flow oscillates in pressure/flow rate due to alternate switching of the valves. A compliance of the compliant element is such that a geometry of the suction pump in combination with the compliance defines a resonant condition, and the oscillation is at a resonant frequency of the pump.
