Patent number: 10963521Abstract: An approach for parsing and streaming contents of archive files is disclosed. In one embodiment, a client script executed by a web browser parses an archive file based on its archival format, without loading the entire archive file into memory. For example, the client may read only header fields of files inside a TAR format archive file to identify the files therein and their locations, while skipping contents of those files. Having identified files inside the archive file and their locations, the client further reads and processes files that are small enough to be handled by the web browser, while streaming to appropriate endpoints contents of other files such as those that are too large to be handled by the web browser. Such streaming may include slicing large files into sections the web browser can handle and attaching the sections to HTTP requests that are sent to appropriate endpoints.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2016Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: VMware, Inc.Inventors: Tihomir Krasimirov Mateev, Etienne Robert Le Sueur

Patent number: 9208043Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for performing fault injection and verification on an integrated circuit are disclosed. For example, the method generates a mask file for one or more modules of a hierarchical design, wherein the mask file identifies one or more essential bits, receives a selection of one of the one or more modules as a selected module for the fault injection and the verification to be applied, performs the fault injection on at least one essential bit of the selected module based upon the mask file for the selected module, and performs the verification on the selected module.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: December 8, 2015Assignee: XILINX, INC.Inventors: Chen W. Tseng, Restu I. Ismail, Robert Le

Patent number: 9058323Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for collecting data streams, such as data packets, on a network, such as the Internet, are disclosed. Evaluation of the metadata and the relationships can be performed algorithmically, as predetermined by an analyst or as provided as preset options by the network monitoring system (NMS). The collected data associated with the users of the network may be accessed by multiple analysts belonging to different groups having a NMS of their own. The system may allow access to multiple analysts belonging to separate groups by parsing through a single instance of the stored data. Multiple analysts belonging to different groups may allow to access to a single instance of the stored data.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2012Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: SS8 NETWORKS, INC.Inventors: Robert Le, Timothy Bean, Henry Huang

Patent number: 8972612Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for collecting data streams, such as data packets, on a network, such as the Internet, are disclosed. A metadata portion of at least one of the data streams is analyzed on the network and evaluated using a metadata processing engine to identify a relationship between at least two of the plurality of data streams, e.g., a relationship between multiple users of interest, a new user of interest, etc. Evaluation of the metadata and the relationships can be performed algorithmically, as predetermined by an analyst or as provided as preset options by the network monitoring system (NMS). An interface manager can receive the new user of interest, evaluate the new user of interest for redundancy against existing users of interest of the NMS; then communicate the new user of interest to at least one access device to collect data streams associated with the new user of interest.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2012Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: SSB Networks, Inc.Inventors: Robert Le, Cemal Dikmen, Bulent Erbilgin, Timothy Bean

Publication number: 20140059024Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for storing, retrieving, and managing data streams, such as data packets, on a network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a network monitoring system (NMS) includes an access device for retrieving data from a network, and a circular storage device coupled to the access device. The circular storage device is operative to retrieve a portion of a data stored in the circular storage device based on a query. The portion of the data retrieved is a broader subset of results of the query. A remote data processing device refines the portion of the data retrieved from the circular storage device based on the query. The circular storage device coupled to the access device may be further operative to overwrite the at least a portion of the data stream based on a set of criteria.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2012Publication date: February 27, 2014Applicant: SS8 Networks, Inc.Inventors: Robert LE, Timothy Bean
