  • Publication number: 20170218692
Abstract: The non-rigid gate device as described may be useful in many application for the general public; gateways in parks, special events, entries to open type office or business building, also large flee-markets often have rigid gates, problems with latches, Other possibilities exist; such as onboard a ship or pleasure boats whereas rigid purpose gates are sometimes left open, this gate is freely placed in a tapered receiver bracket or placed open with the free end resting on a solid surface, rigid gates slam violently in stormy conditions, The non-rigid gate device may be built of metal with a rubber foot to rest on hard surfaces. This gate may be automatically latched when it is placed in a receiver bracket with the auto locking device of this patent application. This invention could be used at airports, parks and welcome centers; or as a garden gate, whereby obstacles often block rigid gates from opening; the inventor foresees many possibilities beyond the stairway use for this non-rigid gate.

  • Publication number: 20160362934
Abstract: The disclosure is a gate that may be adjusted to the width of a passageway by use of bottom and top telescoping beams: The device rotates on a new designed vertical Pivot Post: The hollow core pivot post encases the pivotally mounted ends of the bottom and top telescoping beam: These telescoping beams each have a lengthwise open track, facing one to the other, and thereby entrap the ends of a pre-assembly of a plurality of vertical blocking devices that are linked together by a bottom and a top Bungee Cord: The two Bungee Cords maintain equal spacing of vertical devices, as the gate width is adjusted. Closing the gate across a passageway, the horizontal beams are lowered into a “Y” tapered receiver bracket assembly. The lifting end gate will rotate to a stairway wall or an adjoining surface for storage. An existing gate structure will adjusted to fit a 36 inch to a 56 inch passageway.

  • Patent number: 9428957
Abstract: The gate may be fixed within a doorway or into walls above stairs. The gate is constructed of two horizontal beams pivotally connected by vertical beams, joined by pivot pins. At one end, the horizontal beams are pivotally connected to a hinge so that they may pivot vertically relative to the hinge, which is connected to one side of a door frame and permits the gate to swing open and closed. When closed, the gate latches into saddles on the opposite side of the door frame. When open, the entire gate pivots vertically to incline in a direction of the stairs. When pivoting vertically, the vertical beams remain vertical and the horizontal beams incline.

  • Publication number: 20140173987
Abstract: I designed the “Classic Step Store Gate”, It does not use a pivot post. Classic, Step Store Gate uses my special hinge made by modifying a strap hinge. “Classic” is different in design; “Classic” has a rounded firm handrail across the top, and can help prevent a fall at the steps. It is used at steps going up or down. The opening end of the gate is lifted to open toward steps or into the room. The “Classic Step Store Gate”, has an attractive clean look from the front view, and an interesting mechanical view from the back. The gate can be stored along the wall on the steps.
