    Abstract: An on-tank valve for fitting to a tank to supply stored gas to a consumer and the tank to be replenished with gas from a filling station. The valve has a valve body defining at least two flow passages in communication with the tank. A first flow passage incorporates a solenoid valve to control the flow of gas from the tank to the consumer and the second incorporates a manually operable bleed valve for stored gas to be supplied to the consumer while bypassing the solenoid valve. The bleed valve is a combination valve movable manually between two states. In the first state stored gas is permitted to flow from the tank to the consumer and in the second state the second passage incorporates a non-return valve to permit the tank to be replenished from the filling station without the replenishment gas passing through the solenoid valve.

    Abstract: A yoke-type phaser is disclosed having a drive member and a driven member rotatable about a common axis and coupled to one another by means of a yoke that is movable, in a plane normal to the common axis, to vary the relative phase of the drive and driven members, by interaction between at least two contact elements and a contoured surface, one of (i) the contact elements and (ii) the contoured surface being connected for rotation with the drive member and the other being mounted on the yoke, each contact element comprising a roller in surface contact with a part-cylindrical recess in a carrier, wherein the carrier of at least one of the contact elements is either appropriately sized or adjustably mounted, to set the clearances between the rollers and the contoured surface.

    Abstract: A phasing system for an internal combustion engine having a concentric camshaft includes an annular stator rotatable by the crankshaft and having inner and outer circumferences, and two groups of arcuate cavities. The first group interrupts the inner circumference. A first phaser having an output member as a hub is mounted within the stator in contact with the inner circumference and supported directly on the camshaft tube as a concentric stator bearing. The first phaser has vanes connected to the output member and extending radially into the first group to divide cavities into opposed working chambers. A second phaser comprises first and second end plates at opposite stator sides and fastened to one another to axially seal the cavities therein and, as second output member of the second phaser, connect to vanes extending axially through the second group of cavities to divide the cavities into opposed working chambers.

The yarn end retainer comprises a bail, pivot means and means for urging the bail to pivot about the pivot means in a first direction. The bail comprises at least one leg terminating in an end portion, the leg being mounted for pivotal movement about the pivot means. When the bail is urged to pivot in the first direction, the end portion rides a part of the surface of the yarn package when the yarn package doffs.

    Abstract: In this invention yarn finish is supplied to the yarn applicator supply pan with the level controlled by intermittent admission of air to the top of a distribution tank through an air tube which is intermittently submerged and sealed with yarn finish at the same level as the supply pan. The tube opening is located within another tube connected to the bottom of the distribution tank with a tee which also connects to the supply pan. As the level of yarn finish in the supply pan drops due to use by the finish applicator, the level in the bottom tube also drops, uncovering the opening at the end of the top tube, permitting flow of air into the top of the distribution tank, releasing an equal amount of yarn finish through the tee and conduit to the supply pan, raising the level in the supply pan and the bottom tube until the opening of the top tube is covered and sealed preventing further flow of air until the level drops again due to use by the finish applicator, repeating the same intermittent supply process.

    Abstract: A movable divider wall means is resiliently supported to extend through a slot opening in a bottom wall and into contact with the top wall so as to define between one of its faces and one of the edges of a channel guide for documents an effective guide for documents of a narrower width defined by the wall and the opposed channel wall. The movable wall has a tapered top edge which tapers from a widely spaced leading edge to the flat top of the movable wall which abuts the top wall and is held into the top wall by resilient means. Documents of greater width may be inserted over the movable wall and passing documents will urge the movable wall downward to displace it and allow their passage. Guide means is preferably provided to direct documents of the second narrower width into the channel at a position after the beginning of the movable wall and from above the movable wall so that they do not tend to move the wall out of its position as they are introduced.

    Abstract: A thermal printer provides first and second sub-frames pivotally supported on a main frame to provide access to a dot resistance heater for cleaning and easy removal of the respective structures. Each structure is releasably fixed in operating position in which a resilient drive roller on the second sub-frame presses the thermally sensitive paper against the printer head. The same roller is driven by a motor on the second sub-frame and moves the paper along the paper path by friction drive. The paper moves between a fixed and rotatable knife on the second sub-frame actuated by crank and linkage connection to the core of a solenoid whose winding is fixed on the main frame. A curved guide plate directs the paper toward an opening and into a surface which imposes an S curve on the paper. The S curve allows enlargement of a storage loop in the paper in case the opening is blocked. suThe present invention relates to a thermal printer for the rapid production of tickets, or the like.

Novel features are the polymer flow channels of the breaker plate and spinneret plate which comprise a capillary with open ends, the entrance ends of the breaker plate and spinneret plate and the exit end of the breaker plate defining, respectively, enlarged inlets and outlets, the walls of which intersect with adjacent walls to form a closed, interlocking network of ridges on the top surfaces of the breaker plate and spinneret plate and on the bottom surface of the breaker plate, so as to eliminate areas of low or zero velocity flow of polymer and to reduce pressure differences in polymer in the breaker plate-spinneret plate area.
