Patent number: 10492989Abstract: A device is disclosed for reconstitution and delivery of an injectable pharmaceutical. A diluent is provided in a pressurized reservoir, while separately a syringe with a needle contains a pharmaceutical such as a lyophilized drug. When the pressurized reservoir is coupled to the interior of the syringe, such as by piercing the pressurized reservoir with the needle, the pressurized reservoir forces the diluent into the syringe where the diluent can mix with and reconstitute the pharmaceutical. A variety of techniques are disclosed for pressurizing the reservoir and fluidly coupling the reservoir with the syringe. The techniques disclosed herein may, for example, be adapted for use with a conventional syringe and needle.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2014Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyInventors: Xiang Li, Benjamin E. System and methods of improving the performance, safety and energy efficiency of a cooking appliance
Patent number: 10085585Abstract: System and method for improving the performance, safety, and energy efficiency of a cooking appliance with one or more heating elements operably connected with a burner controller controlling an amount of energy flowing to the one or more heating elements. First, a user or a system controller establishes one or more reference levels. The system controller is operably associated with one or more sensors, which measures levels of one or more emissions generated in the operation of the cooking appliance. Afterwards, the system controller compares the measured levels of the one or more emissions with the reference levels and in response to the measured levels of the emissions exceeding reference levels, sends an activation control signal to the cooking appliance. Then, an energy control mechanism associated with the burner controller adjusts the amount of energy flowing to the heating elements in response to the activation control signal.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2013Date of Patent: October 2, 2018Assignee: Rain Mountain, LLCInventors: Robert Siegel, Robert Lewandowski -

Publication number: 20070114361Abstract: An automatic power control system provides a control signal that regulates the output power of at least one laser diode. Coarse adjustment of the control signal is provided by a first means, preferably a digital variable resistor, while fine adjustment and compensation is provided by a second means, preferably by a digital-to-analog converter that receives an input signal proportional to a sensed control system parameter. Publication number: 20060117551Abstract: A method for manufacturing a multi-layer acoustic transducer with reduced total electrical impedance. The method is based on the bonding of two piezoelectric ceramic layers with confronting metallized surfaces to a thin electrical conductor, then electrically connecting the top and bottom surfaces to form a wrap-around electrode while a center conductor forms a second electrode. The total electrical impedance of a two-layer ceramic stack comprised of piezoelectric layers connected in this manner is one-fourth that of a solid ceramic element of the same size. This provides for better matching of the acoustic stack impedance to that of the electrical cable, increased penetration depth for imaging within the body, and improved acoustic element sensitivity.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2006Publication date: June 8, 2006Inventors: Charles Baumgartner, Robert Lewandowski, George Sogoian

Publication number: 20050221633Abstract: A high-density connection of multiple circuit boards having overlapping ends arranged in a stack. The metal traces on the stacked circuit boards are electrically connected by contact of the ends of the traces, which ends may be pads. The stacked circuit boards can be clamped, soldered or bonded together. Multiple circuit boards may be connected to a single circuit board. In one embodiment, double-sided circuit boards are stacked so that a first circuit board connects to a second circuit board through a third circuit board disposed intermediate the first and second circuit boards. The circuit boards may be flexible or rigid.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2004Publication date: October 6, 2005Inventors: Douglas Wildes, Robert Lewandowski, Geir Haugen
