  • Patent number: 4984302
Abstract: A device is disclosed which attaches to the nose and filters the air a person breathes through the nostrils of the nose. The filter element of the device covers the nostrils and base of the nose. Thus, the remainder of the face is uncovered. The device includes the filter element and an adhesive strip which includes two substantially triangular portions designed to adhere to the sides of the nose and hold the filter in place. The adhesive strip is such that it securely holds the filter over the nostrils when the adhesive strip is properly placed on the sides of the nose. The filter element can be constructed of various materials. For example, cotton, wool, polyester, or carbon. The filter element can include specially designed inserts which are dome shaped or ellipsoidal shaped and which fit in or against the nostrils. The filter element can filter out unwanted gases, solid particles, and/or other matter.

  • Patent number: 4082464
Abstract: In an optical analysis system, six interference filters are mounted on a wheel on a cylindrical locus. The wheel rotates to move the filters in sequence through a beam of light and to vary the angle of incidence of the light to the filters as the filters move through the beam of light so that the wavelength passed by the filters is swept through a range of values. The intensity of light reflected from or transmitted through a test sample is detected to provide an indication of the reflective or transmissive optical density of the test sample at specific wavelengths. The angular position of each of the filters on the wheel is adjustable to make the range of light wavelengths transmitted by each filter adjustable.

  • Patent number: 3975820
Abstract: The specification discloses a razor assembly comprising a handle having a yoke-shaped extension therein into which a double-edged and double-sided blade cartridge interfits for rotatable positioning between the yoke. An ejector and stop means is located at the base of the yoke to hold the blade cartridge in one of two shaving positions with an ejector actuation means operable from the handle of the razor.
