  • Patent number: 10845925
Abstract: An electronic device such as a device with a display may have a force sensor. The force sensor may include capacitive electrodes separated by a deformable layer such as a layer of an elastomeric polymer. The display or other layers in the electronic device may deform inwardly under applied force from a finger of a user or other external object. As the deformed layers contact the deformable layer, the deformable layer is compressed and the spacing between the capacitive electrodes of the force sensor decreases. This causes a measurable rise in the capacitance signal and therefore the force signal output of the force sensor. To prevent the deformable layer from sticking to the inner surface of the display layers, air flow promotion structures may be interposed between the deformable layer and the inner surface of the display. The air flow promotion structures may include spacer pads with anti-stick surfaces.

  • Patent number: 10831254
Abstract: Allocating power between multiple central processing units (CPUs) in a multi-CPU processor based on total current availability and individual CPU quality-of-service (QoS) requirements is disclosed. Current from a power rail is allocated to CPUs by a global current manger (GCM) circuit related to performance criteria set by CPUs. The CPUs can request increased current allocation from the GCM circuit, such as in response to executing a higher performance task. If the increased current allocation request keeps total current on the power rail within its maximum rail current limit, the GCM circuit approves the request to allow the CPU increased current allocation. This can allow CPUs executing higher performance tasks to have a larger current allocation than CPUs executing lower performance tasks without the maximum rail current limit being exceeded, and without having to necessarily lower voltage of the power rail, which could unnecessarily lower performance of all CPUs.

  • Patent number: 10815708
Abstract: The present invention is a positioning mechanism device to prevent the motion of one surface with respect to a second surface, in one direction. The positioning mechanism uses a linear adjusting lock, an actuator, and an over-ride mechanism. The linear adjusting lock uses a coil spring to hold a rod in place. When firmly coiled, the coil spring is able to grip a smooth rod and prevent axial motion. When the coil spring is uncoiled, slightly, it releases its grip on the smooth rod, allowing axial motion. The positioner mechanism uses an actuator and release blade to release the coil spring. Additionally, the over-ride mechanism can be used to release the release blade in one direction without use of the actuator. When the coil spring is released by either the actuator or over-ride mechanism the two surfaces can be re-positioned relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 10810604
Abstract: A content consumption monitor (CCM) generates intent data that identifies topics of real-time interest to users. The CCM uses the intent data to direct information to more interested audiences and reduce the information noise/overload that may prevent users from viewing information. This targeted information may increase user conversion rates for seminars, advertising, documents downloads, or any other activity associated with published information. In one example, the CCM generates the intent data from third party content. Using a wide variety of third party content enables the CCM to better identify current user interests. The CCM may aggregate the intent data for different demographics, such as for companies, job positions, age, gender, or geographic locations.
