  • Patent number: 8719081
Abstract: Bid amounts for electronic advertising can be adjusted throughout the day, or for different days, according to a day parting schedule based on factors such as variations in efficiency. For any set of advertisements grouped based on factors such as keyword, landing page, geographic location, user demographic, etc., values can be forecast for each time period throughout the day. A variation threshold is used to group adjacent periods of time into partitions, and the threshold can be varied until the number of partitions meets the requirements of the provider with whom the advertisement is to be placed. An adjustment factor can be determined for each partition using the forecast information, and these factors can be uploaded to the provider to adjust the base bid price for any advertisement in that group at the appropriate times throughout the day.

  • Publication number: 20070101767
Abstract: A pushout mechanism includes a pusher finger assembly which utilizes air jets to facilitate the location of bottles with the pockets defined by the fingers. The air jets are defined by in a projecting post in an orifice member which can be quickly released from the arm of the finger. The location of the air jet can, accordingly, be quickly adjusted by substituting an orifice member having a shorter or longer post.

  • Patent number: 6436066
Abstract: The present truss body joint brace includes a pair of upper bars for positioning on opposite sides of an upper portion of a limb, a pair of lower bars for positioning on opposite sides of a lower portion of the limb, and a pair of hinges for positioning on opposite sides of a joint on the limb and connected between respective upper bars and respective lower bars. A pair of upper front crossed straps and a pair of upper back crossed straps are connected between the upper bars. A pair of lower front crossed straps and a pair of lower back crossed straps are connected between the lower bars. A flexible tubular upper sleeve is positioned between the upper bars, and a flexible tubular lower sleeve is positioned between the lower bars. The straps are adjustable in length for a snug fit. The bars, crossed straps, and the limb cooperate to form a truss structure that strongly resists lateral forces and protect the body joint from injury while allowing normal joint movement.

  • Patent number: 5666107
Abstract: A communication system (100) for providing messages to a pager (140) includes a first sub-system (105) having a home terminal (125) for normally transmitting the messages to the pager (140) in a first geographic region. The communication system (100) also includes a second sub-system (115) having a local terminal (135) for transmitting the messages to the pager (140) when the pager (140) has roamed into a second geographic region. The local terminal (135) of the second sub-system (115) includes a data port (505) for receiving a message for transmission to the pager (140), a controller (510) for determining that the pager is roaming, and a requester (580) for automatically transmitting a request for a subscriber record associated with the pager (140) from the first sub-system (105) in response to determining that the pager (140) is roaming.

  • Patent number: 4082585
Abstract: An insulation comprising a polyether polyester thermoplastic copolymer obtained by reacting 1, 4 butane diol terephthalate with terepthalate esters of polytetramethylene glycol is coated over an irregularly configured conductor, such as for example, a tinsel conductor, suitable for use in telecommunications cordage by moving the copolymer through an extruder and along a flow path formed between a core tube and wall of a die cavity. The die cavity adjacent to the throat of the die has a frustoconical portion formed with an approach angle of sufficient magnitude to minimize the pressure drop through the extruder to extrude the copolymer at a temperature slightly above the melting point of the copolymer.
