  • Patent number: 8454764
Abstract: A nodular graphite, heat-resistant cast iron composition for use in engine systems. The composition contains carbon 1.5-2.4 weight %, silicon 5.4-7.0 weight %, manganese 0.5-1.5 weight %, nickel 22.0-28.0 weight %, chromium 1.5-3.0 weight %, molybdenum 0.1-1.0 weight %, magnesium 0.03-0.1 weight %, and a balance weight % being substantially iron. The composition has an austenitic matrix. Additionally, the composition exhibits excellent oxidation resistance at high temperature and excellent mechanical properties at both room and high temperatures. Thus, the composition can be a lower cost substitute material for Ni-Resist D5S under thermocycling conditions experienced by exhaust gas accessories and housings such as engine exhaust manifolds, turbocharger housings, and catalytic converter housings.

  • Publication number: 20060123447
Abstract: A method and interface for linking terms in an electronic message to program information, are provided. The method of linking terms in an electronic message to program information in an electronic program guide (EPG) comprises the steps of receiving an electronic message, comparing terms in the electronic message to terms in the program information of the EPG, and displaying the electronic message so that any terms in the electronic message which have a match in the program information based on the step of comparing terms, are distinguishable from terms which have no such match. The electronic message interface is adapted to link terms in an electronic message to program information in an electronic program guide (EPG). The electronic message interface comprises a receiver, a comparison unit, and a display device. The receiver is adapted to receive an electronic message.

  • Patent number: 5514280
Abstract: A filter system is provided for mounting on an aquarium tank to treat the water in the aquarium. The filter system comprises a plurality of filter chambers, each containing a different filter media. The filter chambers serve to filter particulate matter from the aquarium water. A heater is further provided for controlling and maintaining the temperature of the aquarium water. The filter system further includes a dry chamber including a biological medium to support the growth of beneficial bacteria on the medium. A particularly preferred type of media is a plurality of plastic biospheres. The beneficial bacteria serve to biologically treat the aquarium and eliminate ammonia and nitrites from the water. At least one buffering chamber including a buffering medium is provided for buffering the aquarium water and maintaining a predetermined alkalinity level for the water. An air pump serves to pressurize portions of said filter system and aerate the aquarium water.

  • Patent number: 3974020
Abstract: A machine for making carpeting in which rows of lengths of yarn are bonded to an adhesive surface of a backing web has a gripper station at which yarn ends are presented in a row and are drawn out a predetermined distance, the drawn length of yarn being engaged to support them and then cut off. The cut lengths are then transferred to an assembly station where they are placed on the adhesive surface of the backing. The yarn lengths are pressed against the adhesive surface by a bladed member. The means engaging the drawn yarn lengths to support them comprises, in a preferred version, a bar extending along one side of the row of yarn ends and provided with a multiplicity of pins for impaling the yarn lengths, and a bar on the other side of the row with holes corresponding to the pins for pressing the yarn lengths on to the pins.
