  • Patent number: 12674369
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for sealing an annulus of a wellbore. The method including: lowering a tubular patch into a tubular to a desired seal location, wherein the tubular is disposed in a wellbore and includes one or more openings extending from an outer surface of the tubular to an inner surface of the tubular, the tubular patch including: an outer diameter of the tubular patch smaller than an inner diameter of the tubular and a first chemical disposed on an outer surface of the tubular patch; expanding the tubular patch within the tubular at the desired seal location; and exposing the first chemical to a second chemical, wherein the first chemical and second chemical react to form a sealing agent and the sealing agent expands through the one or more openings to fill an annulus between the tubular and the wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20250314168
Abstract: A method for characterizing fluid production into a well during pumping fluid from the well includes deploying a well pump on an electrical cable to a selected depth in a production tubing nested within a protective pipe in the well. The well pump has suspended therefrom an extension line. The extension line is connected at an end opposed to the well pump at least one production logging sensor. A length of the extension line is chosen such that the at least one production logging sensor is disposed in the protective pipe below a bottom of the production tubing. The well pump is operated; and while operating the well pump, at least one property of fluid entering the protective pipe is measured using the at least one production logging sensor.

  • Patent number: 12140020
Abstract: A system and method are provided for monitoring a wellbore in a lateral section, during stimulation, with equipment enabling retrieval in many conditions. The method includes monitoring the wellbore with a distributed fiber optic sensor to determine one or more characteristics of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor. The method also includes retrieving a cable by exerting a traction force. A downhole device is provided for receiving the cable and includes retainers to maintain the cable and also includes a weakpoint configured to break when subjected to a force along a longitudinal axis of the downhole device that is greater than a predetermined threshold. The system includes the cable having the distributed fiber optic sensor, the downhole device, and a surface monitoring system for determining the characteristic of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a system, downhole device and method for monitoring a wellbore, in particular in a lateral section, during stimulation, with an equipment enabling retrieval in many conditions. The method includes monitoring the wellbore with a distributed fiber optic sensor to determine one or more characteristics of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor. The cable is retrieved by exerting a traction force. The disclosure also relates to a downhole device for receiving a cable and retainers to maintain the cable and having a weakpoint configured to break when subjected to a force along the longitudinal axis greater than a predetermined threshold. The system comprises the cable having the distributed fiber optic sensor, the downhole device and a surface monitoring system for determining the characteristic of the stimulation operation using detected backscattered optical signals on the distributed fiber optic sensor.
