  • Patent number: 11524242
Abstract: A system and method for providing customized instances of a game within a virtual space. The system may be configured to obtain values associated with one or more users of the virtual space. The game, which is playable within the virtual space, may initially comprise predefined features and initially undefined features. The customizations may define the initially undefined features to provide custom-defined features. As such, when played, the game may include the predefined features and the custom-defined features. Customizations defining the initially undefined features to provide custom-defined features for a given instance of the game may be determined based on the values associated with a given user. The system may be configured to provide the given instance of the game to the given user.

  • Patent number: 10949484
Abstract: Systems and methods for graphically representing a research relationship. A user operating a user device provides a search input for a target entity. An input detector receives the search input. A database searcher retrieves publications associated with the target entity from a plurality of databases, at least some of which being jointly contributed to by the target entity and associated entities. A publication compiler determines a number of publications for the target entity and a number of publications for the associated entities. A user interface generator generates a GUI representing a research relationship between the target entity and the associated entities. The target entity and the associated entities are represented as objects having a size corresponding to the number of publications, with the objects connected via connectors which represent joint contribution to one or more of the plurality of publications by the target entity and a respective associated entity.

  • Patent number: 10376776
Abstract: A system and method for providing a video game using information stored by physical objects are disclosed. The video game may take place in a virtual space. Users may access the virtual space via client computing platforms. Users may participate in the video game by controlling game entities in the virtual space. Individual ones of the game entities may be associated with individual physical objects. The information stored by individual physical objects may be implemented by virtue of a client computing platform receiving the stored information. The information may be implemented independently from gameplay in the virtual space using the associated game entity. For example, a physical object may store information related to a “limited edition” version of an associated game entity that may only be implemented in the virtual space by virtue of the information being received from the physical object.

  • Patent number: 10304287
Abstract: Users may access a virtual space and/or video game taking place in the virtual space by logging into user accounts via computing platforms. The user accounts may include values for one or more attributes of the user accounts. The user accounts may be periodically rewarded based on values included in the user accounts matching a winning value. The values in the user accounts may include account-specific values that may be unique to a corresponding user account. A winning value may be determined from a pool of account-specific values such that for a given winning value, a single winning user account may be determined.

  • Patent number: 10086276
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing content in a virtual space are presented herein. The content may be generated in the virtual space by a non-player game entity. The non-player game entity may be associated with generating a particular type of content in the virtual space. The users may deploy the non-player game entities in the virtual space in order to generate the corresponding non-player game entity-generated content in the virtual space. The non-player game entity-generated content may be implemented through procedural placement of elements of the content within the virtual space. The non-player game entity-generated content comprise one or more of static content, moving content, interactive content (e.g., a game), and/or other types of content.

  • Patent number: 10052552
Abstract: A system for associating virtual activity of a user in a virtual space and a real-world activity of a user in a physical environment are presented herein. User activities and/or experiences within the physical environment and/or the virtual environment may be created (e.g., new experiences/personalizations being presented to the user), changed, accelerated, and/or otherwise managed such that each one enhances the other and/or enriches the overall experiences of the users over time.

  • Patent number: 9910565
Abstract: A system and method for providing personalization of a virtual space based on an individualized seed value. The system may provide personalization within one or more instances of a virtual space based on an individualized seed value derived from one or more biometric samples (e.g., a fingerprint) and/other individual identifiers. One or more values may be obtained and used as the individual seed value to generate pseudorandom numbers. Personalizations affecting characteristics of one or more aspects of the virtual space may be determined based on the pseudorandom numbers generated. Presentation of the personalizations determined may be effectuated in on or more instances of the virtual space.

  • Patent number: 9656172
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a system configured to manage virtual content within a virtual space based on information associated with objects. The information associated with the objects may be updated responsive to detecting the objects at various real world physical geographic locations. The system may be configured to enhance a user's gaming experience by enabling location based unlocking of the virtual content in the virtual space. In some implementations, the locations may be locations such as but not limited to locations within theme parks, movie theaters, restaurants, and/or stores, for example. A user may be able to transport objects to one or more geographic locations where object identification devices detect the objects. Virtual content may be unlocked responsive to the detection of objects by the object identification devices.
