  • Patent number: 11969929
Abstract: Described herein is a multilayer microporous film or membrane that may exhibit improved properties, including improved dielectric break down and strength, compared to prior monolayer or tri-layer microporous membranes of the same thickness. The preferred multilayer microporous membrane comprises microlayers and one or more lamination interfaces or barriers. Also disclosed is a battery separator or battery comprising one or more of the multilayer microporous films or membranes. The inventive battery and battery separator is preferably safer and more robust than batteries and battery separators using prior monolayer and tri-layer microporous membranes. Also, described herein is a method for making the multilayer microporous separators, membranes or films described herein.

  • Publication number: 20240123379
Abstract: A device and system for purifying a fluid is provided. The system includes a tank having an interior space and a media container disposed within the interior space. A valve is provided that cooperates with an element within the interior, the valve being movable between an open and a closed position. The valve being biased to the open position when the element is not positioned within the interior space, wherein the interior space is fluidly coupled to the atmosphere in the open position. The valve further being configured to move to a closed position when the element is positioned within the interior space.

  • Publication number: 20230117050
Abstract: An additive manufacturing composition comprising a thermosetting material such as a vinyl ester and/or an unsaturated polyester, a reinforcing material, and a low-profile additive. When the composition is cured to form an object, the cured object has a CLTE of 10 um/m-° C. or less in X- and/or Y-directions, and/or 100 um/m-° C. or less in a Z-direction. Additive manufacturing methods can use the composition to produce an object having high dimensional stability.

  • Patent number: 11374929
Abstract: An augmented reality or virtual reality device is detected as being attached to the specific user. In response, an access request for the specific user for use of the augmented reality or virtual reality device is automatically generated. Access is granted utilizing biometric authentication enhanced with non-invasive internal scanning of the body for characteristics unique to the specific user. Access can be granted for a device, a specific app on the device, or for a specific virtual or augmented location within the specific app.

  • Patent number: 11368455
Abstract: Biometric authentication of a subject utilizing bone and/or blood vessel (vein or artery) structures is provided. A vertice profile is generated from a non-invasive, multi-dimensional image scan of a subject or a portion thereof. The vertice profile is generated by identifying relative locations of divots and peaks on a surface of a bone structure or by identifying branch intersections and traversals of blood vessels. Additional variation techniques can be used for proof of life (verification of human subject). If authenticated, access to physical or digital/virtual assets is allowed.

  • Patent number: 11277405
Abstract: Biometric health monitoring of a specific user or population is performed during biometric authentication for granting access to physical or digital assets. If biometric authentication, biometric verification and biometric health monitoring is acceptable, access to the physical or digital assets is allowed. Likewise, if a health anomaly is detected in a specific user or if an outbreak is detected in a specific community, an electronic notification can be sent to the individual, a health administrator, or to a government official, and access may be denied to the specific user.

  • Patent number: 10308804
Abstract: A vehicle body repair formulation is provided that includes a polyester resin having a degree of unsaturation of between 25 and 100 molecule percent based on total acid and anhydride content. The polyester resin is dissolved or suspended in a monomer reactive diluent. Microspheroids are provided to enhance the sandability of a cured formulation. An initiator package is also provided. The reactive diluent/monomer can be chosen to be non-stryrenic to improve performance properties. A process for repairing a vehicle body is provided using ambient conditions alone or in combination with thermal source to aid in cure after applied to the vehicle body in need of repair.
