  • Patent number: 11927357
Abstract: A system includes a plurality of thermostats corresponding to a plurality of HVAC systems that serve a plurality of spaces and a computing system communicable with the plurality of thermostats via a network. The computing system is configured to, for each space of the plurality of spaces, obtain a set of training data relating to thermal behavior of the space, identify a model of thermal behavior of the space based on the set of training data, perform a model predictive control process using the model of thermal behavior of the space to obtain a temperature setpoint for the space, and provide the temperature setpoint to the thermostat corresponding to the HVAC system serving the space. The plurality of thermostats are configured to control the plurality of HVAC systems in accordance with the temperature setpoints.

  • Patent number: 9695620
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the force in a door operator or closer includes a tube rotatable about a longitudinal axis and a coil spring therein connected to door operator/closer. A fixed adjusting screw extends along the longitudinal axis of the housing through the coil spring and a spring collar is threaded onto the adjusting screw and rotatable with the tube. The spring collar bears on the distal end of the spring to vary the spring compression upon rotation of the housing and thereby vary force applied by the door operator or closer. The housing has an opening though which the spring is visible, and the tube has markings indicating the degree of spring compression. An indicator is moveable along and visible outside the housing to indicate the compression of the spring.

  • Patent number: 5270310
    Abstract: The present invention provides methods for inhibiting protein kinase C which comprise contacting protein kinase C with an inhibitory amount of a compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.8 through C.sub.15 alkyl; R.sub.2 is H, C.sub.1 through C.sub.10 alkyl, or benzyl; R.sub.3 is N-heterocyclic, N-alkylheterocyclic, quaternized N-heterocyclic, NR.sub.4 R.sub.5 or N.sup.+ R.sub.4 R.sub.5 R.sub.6 X.sup.- ; R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are independently C.sub.1 through C.sub.10 alkyl; n is 2, 3, 4, or 5; and X is an anion. The invention also provides novel compounds having the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.8 through C.sub.15 alkyl; R.sub.2 is H, C.sub.1 through C.sub.10 alkyl, or benzyl; R.sub.3 is N-heterocyclic, N-alkylheterocyclic or quaternized N-heterocyclic; and n is 2, 3, 4, or 5.
