  • Publication number: 20070289137
Abstract: The present invention provides a package opener including an elongated body having a first cutting blade fixedly attached thereto and a second cutting blade rotatably coupled to the body adjacent the first cutting blade. The first and second cutting blades defining opposing first and second cutting edges respectively and movable relative to each other between open and closed positions. The first and second cutting blades cooperating in the open position to define a blade opening between the cutting edges thereof for receiving an object to be cut in a cutting process. The package opener including a lever attached to the second cutting blade for moving the second cutting blade towards the closed position, the lever biased for urging the second cutting blade towards the open position. The first and second cutting edges being disposed generally perpendicular to the length of the body.

  • Patent number: 6796788
Abstract: A polymer is plasticized in a plasticizing unit and is thereafter fed into a transfer device which is moved into alignment with a clamping press which is remotely located from the plasticizing unit. The polymer from the transfer device is deposited on a carrier which moves into the forming device. An impress preforming device allows the carrier with the deposited polymer to be shaped in the mold or forming device. Alternatively, the transfer device can be connected with a chamber which is capable of coating continuous or chopped fibers which are deposited on a carrier in a continuous or chopped manner. The carrier with the fiber and polymer composite layer are shaped in the forming device.

  • Patent number: 6264462
Abstract: A polymer is plasticized in a plasticizing unit and is thereafter fed into a transfer device which is moved into alignment with a clamping press which is remotely located from the plasticizing unit. The polymer from the transfer device is deposited directly into a mold attached to the clamping press or is deposited on a carrier which moves into the mold. An impress preforming device allows the carrier deposited polymer to be shaped prior to entering the mold. Alternatively, the transfer device can be connected with a chamber which is capable of coating continuous or chopped fibers which are deposited on a carrier in a continuous or chopped manner. The carrier moves the fiber composite into the mold.

  • Patent number: 6026852
Abstract: A pressure relief valve such as is used to relieve over-pressure in the passenger compartment of an automotive vehicle has valve flaps which are retained in connection with a housing by molded-in-place retainer strips. The valve is manufactured by an injection molding tool having a pair of mold halves defining a first mold cavity for forming the housing and a second mold cavity for forming the flaps. After the housing and flaps have set, the mold is opened, with the housing remaining in contact with one mold half and the flaps remaining in contact with the other mold half. One mold half is then moved relative to the other to place the housing and the flaps in alignment with one another, and the mold halves are closed again to place the flaps inside the housing and define a third mold cavity extending along the lines of desired attachment between the flaps and the valve seats.

  • Patent number: 5262588
Abstract: An aluminum foil strip is provided with adhesive strips on one face surrounding the strip of foil. The strip of foil is then positionable and attachable to an electronic cabinet frame over exposed raw metal areas for intimate electrical contact when the cabinet door is closed. This strip of foil provides electrical continuity between the frame and door as well as a seal against EMI/RFI at the cabinet/door interface.
