  • Patent number: 6163775
Abstract: The information management and database system of the present invention comprises a flexible, self-referential table that stores data. The table of the present invention may store any type of data, both structured and unstructured, and provides an interface to other application programs. The table of the present invention comprises a plurality of rows and columns. Each row has an object identification number (OID) and each column also has an OID. A row corresponds to a record and a column corresponds to a field such that the intersection of a row and a column comprises a cell that may contain data for a particular record related to a particular field, a cell may also point to another record. To enhance searching and to provide for synchronization between columns, columns are entered as rows in the table and the record corresponding to a column contains various information about the column. The table includes an index structure for extended queries.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 5, 1998
Date of Patent: December 19, 2000
    Assignee: Enfish, Inc.
Inventors: Scott Wlaschin, Robert M. Gordon, Louise J. Wannier, Clay Gordon

  • Patent number: 5247381
Abstract: Optical and electronic mechanisms for establishing bi-directional line-of-sight optical links between neighboring nodes to maintain continuous, error-free operation of a network are disclosed. The system provides operational status indication signals for operators and for data communication devices that are attached to nodes. The system provides decision-making logic systems to reconfigure the network path instantly and automatically to a hot standby path if an optical link between neighboring nodes becomes impaired. The system operates without a central controller and at the physical level of the Open System Interconnection reference model without modification to the Medium Access Control or Logical Link Control. Operation is transparent to all common network standards.

  • Patent number: 4024853
Abstract: The invention provides a solar heating arrangement which has a plurality of substantially hollow elongate members with at least one fluid passage way therein, a plurality of substantially hollow connecting members each adapted to interlock one with the other, each connecting member being adapted so as to interlock with a respective elongate member at each end thereof, the connecting members and the elongate members being interlocked to form a heating arrangement which, when in use, has fluid flowing through it.
