  • Patent number: 9887882
Abstract: A network functions virtualization (NFV) network can be configured to operate according to NFV protocols that decouple software functionality from specific hardware elements. A referent system can be provided that identifies a precise physical location of devices associated with the NFV network relative to other equipment or devices associated with the NFV network.

  • Publication number: 20170245109
Abstract: A request to instantiate a first service is received. The first service is subject to policy constraints including a location. It is determined that a first set of resources at the location is required for instantiation of the first service. The first set of resources is reallocated to the first service from a second service. The first service is instantiated at the location utilizing the first set of resources reallocated.

  • Publication number: 20170178518
Abstract: Examples for controlling an aerial device are described. An example method includes a processor receiving a request comprising an origin location and a destination location, determining a flight path based on the origin location and the destination location, wherein the flight path is determined based on at least one policy driven control rule, providing the flight path in response to the request and monitoring an unmanned aerial vehicle traversing the flight path.

  • Publication number: 20160373297
Abstract: A device and method manages components of a network. The method performed in a registry includes recording, for an instantiated component (IC), an identification thereof. The method includes recording, for the IC, a location of the IC, the location being a physical location or a virtual location. The method includes recording, for the IC, a relation of the IC to a second IC. The method includes receiving a change to one of the identification, the location, and the relation. The method includes recording the change and a further change to another one of the identification, the location, and the relation based upon the change.

  • Publication number: 20160269237
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes receiving first input defining a relationship between first and second entities, generating a first rule based on the first input, wherein the first rule determines accessibility of a networked service, and associating the first rule with the relationship. The first rule modifies settings of a service management infrastructure to effectuate the first rule in accordance with the relationship, wherein the service management infrastructure provides access to the networked service based on the accessibility. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6538669
Abstract: A storage server architecture supporting virtual devices and virtual circuits for storing data is provided. The storage server includes a plurality of communication interfaces. A first set of communication interfaces in the plurality is adapted for connection to all kinds of users of data. A second set of communication interfaces in the plurality is adapted for connection to respective devices in a pool of storage devices. Data processing resources in the server are coupled to the plurality of communication interfaces for transferring data among the interfaces. The data processing resources comprise a plurality of driver modules and configurable logic linking driver modules into data paths. Each configured data path acts as a virtual circuit that includes a set of driver modules selected from the plurality of driver modules. A data storage transaction which is received at a communication interface is mapped to one of the configured data paths.

  • Publication number: 20010046771
Abstract: A thin film resistor (60) having a low TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) and a method for engineering the TCR of a material for a thin film resistor (60). The thin film resistor (60) comprises a material with a sheet resistance selected for low or zero TCR. In order to increase the sheet resistance, a thinner (e.g., 20-50 Å) layer of material may be used for thin film resistor (60).
