Patent number: 12138665Abstract: A system and method for cleaning used animal bedding generally made up of wood chips, manure, and urine. Large manure and debris are first separated from the used animal bedding. The remaining used animal bedding material is then mixed with a liquid to form a slurry. The slurry particles—other than the wood chips—are then reduced in size to facilitate the separation of the wood chips from the other slurry particles. Once separated, the wood chips can be reused as animal bedding. This system and method also provides for further processing of the remaining slurry particles into other products, such as mulch, fertilizer, and clean water.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2023Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Patent number: 11634953Abstract: A flow back system for separating solids from a slurry recovered from a hydrocarbon well. The system includes a V-shaped tank with a first series of baffles configured to cause the settling of solids that are moved by a shaftless auger to a conduit fluidly connected to hydrocyclones mounted over a linear shaker. The overflow from the hydrocyclones is discharged through a second conduit back into the tank for processing by a second series of baffles resulting in a clean effluent. The clean effluent is recirculated in the well.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2022Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Kulbeth

Patent number: 11224831Abstract: A dam assembly is provided which is used to increase retention time on the shaker and therefore achieve maximum dryness of solids, such as cuttings, sand, dirt, and other particles. As solids are conveyed to the end of the shaker, the solids will begin to pile up behind the dam assembly. Once enough solids of sufficient weight pile up behind the dam assembly, the dam assembly will fold over and release the solids.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2019Date of Patent: January 18, 2022Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Patent number: 11219845Abstract: A system for separating solids from a fluid includes a containment vessel having a V-shaped tank in fluid communication with an agitated overflow tank. Baffles within the V-shaped tank provide a series of zones where the fluid is deposited for processing. A shaftless auger at the bottom of the V-shaped tank transfers solids to an area where they are pumped to a first hydrocyclone assembly associated with a first shaker. Overflow from the hydrocyclone assembly and underflow from the first shaker is further processed by a second hydrocyclone assembly associated with a second shaker. Overflow from the second hydrocyclone assembly and underflow from the second shaker are deposited into overflow tank which contains the cleaned fluid.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2020Date of Patent: January 11, 2022Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Patent number: 11173425Abstract: An assembly for diffusing gas from a first slurry having an open-bottomed housing having an opening for conveying a second slurry from inside of the housing to outside of the housing. The assembly includes one or more intake conduits extending through an upper mid-portion of the housing for receiving the first slurry, and a gas diffusing channel formed in the housing for conveying diffused gas from the liquid from inside of the housing to outside of the housing. The assembly includes a dumping assembly having a dump valve used to convey fluid from an upper layer of fluid located inside of the housing to outside of the housing. The assembly may include a recirculation pump and a suction conduit coupled to the pump for pumping fluid (dyed fluid) from inside of the housing. The assembly is configured to be partially submerged in liquid, such as in a tank.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2019Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Kulbeth

Patent number: 11040300Abstract: A flow back system for separating solids from a slurry recovered from a hydrocarbon well. The system includes a V-shaped tank with a first series of baffles configured to cause the settling of solids that are moved by a shaftless auger to a conduit fluidly connected to a dispersing device mounted over or adjacent to a shaker such as a linear shaker. The shaker receives and processes the output of the dispersing device and dewaters solids. The underflow of the shaker is recirculated through the tank.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2020Date of Patent: June 22, 2021Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Kulbeth

Patent number: 10773188Abstract: A system for separating solids from a first slurry mixture recovered from a hydrocarbon well. The system includes a V-shaped tank and one or more second mixing tanks for accumulating a slurry of fine particles from an overflow from the V-shaped tank. A shaftless auger moves solids to a conduit fluidly connected to hydrocyclones. The overflow of the hydrocyclones is mixed with the first flurry coming from a rig flow line and is discharged over a target plate and bar screen. Air is released from the mixture through one or more perforated baffles. Solids fall from the bar screen onto a shaker, which dewaters these solids as well as solids from an underflow from the hydrocyclones.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2018Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: DEL CorporationInventor: Robert M. Patent number: 7514011Abstract: A system for separating solids from a fluid stream. The system includes a first separator device mounted to a container. The container includes a settling compartment and baffle plate module, with the initial settling compartment receiving the fluid from the first separator device. The fluid stream proceeds through the baffle plate module. The solids within the fluid stream will descend to the bottom of the container. A spiral blade is positioned at the bottom of the container, with the spiral blade adapted to convey solids to a first pump member. The speed of rotation of the spiral blade may be varied. The first pump member discharges the slurry to a second separator device. The second separator device will discharge the separated fluid stream into the baffle plate module. In one embodiment, the first separator device is a linear shaker and the second separator device is a cyclone separator and linear shaker mounted in tandem.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2004Date of Patent: April 7, 2009Assignee: Del CorporationInventor: Robert M. Patent number: 6976819Abstract: A multi-screw auger equipped tank comprises opposing sides sloping downward and inwardly toward one another. A plurality of shaftless screw transfer augers run along the tank bottom. Drivers and transmissions coupled to the transfer augers permit simultaneous rotation of the augers in the same or opposite directions of rotation, at the same or different rotational speeds. Materials within the tank, typically slurries or sludges, can be moved to one end of the tank by the transfer augers. An inclined screw auger is disposed near the end of the tank distal from the location at which materials are deposited in the tank. The inclined screw auger picks up the materials and moves them out of the tank. Baffles in the tank aid in dewatering slurries and sludges. Circulation of materials within the tank may be done by rotating the transfer augers in different directions and/or rotational speeds. The tank may be emptied by the fluid pump for fluids and/or the inclined augers for solids.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2004Date of Patent: December 20, 2005Assignee: Del CorporationInventor: Robert M.
