  • Patent number: 11352763
Abstract: An amphibious platform vehicle-vessel to support and to move hydraulically operated and controlled earth-moving and lifting equipment, such as excavators and cranes, on solid ground, semi-solid or marshy ground, shallow water, and deeper water. The modular units can be transported to a worksite on separate trailers and assembled and reconfigured on site. Two compartmented pontoon units are mounted to an adaptive cross member that can accommodate different types of moving-lifting equipment through different mounting flanges, and to auxiliary cross members. Propulsion is provided through amphibious cleats on drive chains in chain tracks driven by dual-motor driving drums and over a tension-adjusting passive chain roller, surrounding a sealed pontoon shell internally reinforced with bulkhead partitions, beam shell-bottom stiffeners, and pressed-angle shell-bottom stiffeners. An extendable auxiliary float can be extended outward from each compartmented pontoon for increased stability in floating operations.

  • Publication number: 20090184300
Abstract: A metal fence post protective cap made of a flexible plastic material to fit snuggly on top of a T shaped cross section and uniformly spaced studs extending from one surface. The cap is formed with channels to receive the T shaped cross section and the studs with all of the channels being closed at the top. The T shaped cross section receiving channels are completely open at the bottom of the cap but the bottom of the stud receiving channel is partially closed with a retainer portion which engages and outer portion of a stud to resist accidental removal of the cap from the post. The retainer portion merges with a small lead in opening acting as a guide to align studs with the stud receiving channel during installation of the cap on the post.

  • Patent number: 6701801
Abstract: A device that is ergonomically designed for steering a variety of industrial vehicles is disclosed. The driver may steer the vehicle while keeping his hand flat on the device, which is custom fitted to a particular industrial vehicle. The hand that steers the vehicle is kept flat on the device, allowing the driver of the vehicle to steer it without grasping the steering wheel.

  • Publication number: 20030046134
Abstract: A web-based project management system that includes a network-accessible computer server and clients is disclosed, which provides a universally accessible, web-based, shared member workspace for a number of project team members to collaborate on one or more projects. The system does not require a particular software to be used by the team members to access the member workspace and the system's functionality has been designed to be intuitive and easy enough to use so that even the most inexperienced user will find it immediately useful.

  • Patent number: 6353187
Abstract: A plastic insulator for holding an electrified conductor, and particularly a conductor of a tape configuration, in insulated relation to a fence post and in elevated position above the ground. The insulator includes a clamping arrangement releasably holding the conductor against axial or radial movement by a pair of conductor engaging members hinged together for movement between a tape receiving and a tape clamping position. The clamping arrangement includes a latch mechanism with a coating finger and a deflectable tab with an opening to receive the finger to prevent relative movement of the conductor engaging members and inadvertent opening of the clamping arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6018058
Abstract: The present invention relates to a class of 1,4-dihydrodioxin masked quinone compounds which are useful as DNA or RNA cleaving reagents. These compounds may additionally include moieties which target the compounds to specific base sequences on the DNA or RNA molecule to permit site-specific cleavage. The process for using these compounds in a UV or short wavelength visible light-activated reaction for cleaving DNA, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds, are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5949576
Abstract: A rear projection screen assembly including a plurality of rear projection screen panels and a framing system for interconnecting the panels. Each of the panels includes an audience facing front surface and a rear surface upon which an image is projected. Selected perimeter edges of the panels include notches which are in registry with notches provided on the perimeter edges of adjacent panels when the panels are arranged in a screen-forming relationship. The framing system includes front brackets and rear brackets disposed along the notched edges of the panels at the panel front surfaces and rear surfaces respectively. Fasteners which extend through the notches in the panel edges connect the front bracket to the rear bracket such that the panels are secured between the brackets. The invention also provides an integrally formed fastener and bracket to facilitate assembly.

  • Patent number: 5699395
Abstract: Segmented stayrod for restricting transverse displacement of a nuclear heat exchanger tube support plate. The stayrod includes a first rod segment interposed between the tubesheet and the first support plate, the first rod segment having an externally threaded riser extending through the hole formed in the first support plate. The stayrod also has a second rod segment interposed between the first support plate and the second support plate, the second rod segment having an internally threaded end portion for threadably engaging the threaded riser of the first rod segment. The second rod segment also has an externally threaded riser extending through the hole formed in the second support plate. An internally threaded fastener threadably engages the riser of the second rod segment for fastening the second rod segment to the second support plate. In this manner, the first support plate is captured between the first rod segment and the second rod segment.
