  • Publication number: 20100137721
Abstract: An ultrasound scanning system and methods of using the same. In one preferred form, an ultrasound scanning system comprises an acoustic imaging catheter comprising an ultrasonic transducer, a motion control system and an imaging computer system for imaging a patient's genitourinary system. In another preferred form, an ultrasound scanning system is used for imaging a patient's prostate gland.

  • Patent number: 5467070
Abstract: A vehicle security system having a secure valet/programming switch. To either enter the system valet mode, or select a function via the valet/programming switch, the user must first enter a valid personal access code via the switch. To prevent an intruder from deciphering the personal code by trying various codes, the system ignores, after a preset number of successive invalid entries, further switch inputs for a preset period of time. When attempts to decipher the code are detected, the alarm is tripped, and the siren will sound. To accommodate various drivers of the same vehicle, more than one valid code can be stored in the system. Any of the personal access codes may be changed any time, but after the user's present code is entered.

  • Patent number: 5132684
Abstract: A system for encoding, multiplexing and transmitting traffic congestion data is disclosed. The invention utilizes a master display map on which traffic conditions are represented by condition indicators. A similar, smaller-scale map and indicator display is carried by individuals and in vehicles, reproduces the information appearing on the master map.

  • Patent number: 5081667
Abstract: An interfacing system for integrating a wide variety of cellular communication systems with most vehicle security systems. The system includes a controller and an interfacing arrangement for matching the cellular telephone to the controller. The interfacing arrangement includes a library, stored in memory, having a plurality of unique translation tables corresponding to the protocols of a plurality of unique cellular communication systems. The interfacing arrangement further includes an initializing capability for selecting an operating protocol for the interfacing system from the library which is compatible with the protocol of the cellular communication system. Hardware and software are included for interfacing the vehicle security to the controller and for interfacing the controller to the vehicle. In a specific embodiment, the selection of cellular telephone type or make is made from the keypad of the cellular telephone.

  • Patent number: 4830005
Abstract: A test device for use with a pacemaker to simulate the load of a heart. The device is designed for telemetering control and includes in its circuit a magnetic reed switch which opens and closes a load circuit in response to a remotely applied magnetic field. The device is intended to be disposable and is installed in circuit with the pacemaker terminals which normally connect to the heart leads. The device as thus installed is packaged in the sterile shipping package with the pacemaker and both permit the final checking of the pacemaker within its sterile pack prior to shipment and testing of the pacemaker in preparation for implantation without the necessity of opening the sterile package to conduct the test.

  • Patent number: 4055816
Abstract: An oscillator or similar device employing a frequency setting SAW element having a piezoelectric substrate and an arrangement of interdigital finger transducers mounted thereon. In one embodiment, two interdigital finger transducers provide surface acoustic wave launching and reception respectively and in another embodiment, two additional transducers form a part of a discriminator circuit. Phase detection either between the electrical connections of the launching and receiving transducers or through the discriminator arrangement generates a feedback control signal which is applied across the ends of the substrate as a stress-controlling signal in a manner to compensate for temperature and other environmental factors which otherwise change the frequency of oscillation.
