  • Patent number: 12158868
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for improved per-frequency counting systems that record interactions between individuals and a group of providers while maintaining differential privacy. A protocol may be defined that specifies frequency bins to categorize identifiers corresponding to individuals. A provider may generate a plurality of private sketches, each corresponding to a plurality of frequencies defined in the protocol. Frequency data is determined for each identifier. Identifiers are encoded into the private sketches corresponding to the identifiers' associated frequency. The plurality of private sketches from each provider in the group of providers are combined to generate a deduplicated distribution across the group. In one implementation, the private sketches of each provider are sequentially merged until all sketches have been combined, from which the total distribution can be estimated.

  • Publication number: 20240371524
Abstract: A decision support tool is provided for identifying and assisting clinicians with patient ventilator asynchrony. The information used to make the identification may include data from a patient's ventilator including the volume, flow, and pressure associated with that ventilator. At least some of this information may be used to compute one or more features for a time series of the data received for the patient. These features may be used in connection with heuristic rules and machine learning algorithms to identify instances of patient ventilator asynchrony. Based on the identification, one or more intervening actions may be initiated to reduce the impact of patient ventilator asynchrony.

  • Patent number: 12124856
Abstract: During a computing system boot sequence, reference firmware provided by a computing system component supplies Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) code that generates ACPI tables and definition blocks to a bootloader. During a boot sequence, the reference firmware receives an indication from the bootloader which components the reference firmware is to initialize. As part of component initialization performed by the reference firmware, the reference firmware populates hand-off data structures (e.g., hand-off blocks (HOBs)) with ACPI code (AML code) that, when executed by the bootloader, generates and populates ACPI tables (e.g., DSDT and SSDT tables) and definition blocks with information pertinent to the initialization and runtime management of computing system components. Component initialization and runtime configuration workarounds can be implemented in the bootloader incorporating reference firmware updates provided by the component vendor.

  • Patent number: 12119400
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a semiconductor transistor device includes etching a vertical gate trench into a silicon region, depositing a silicon gate material on an interlayer dielectric formed in the vertical gate trench so that an upper side of the interlayer dielectric is covered, etching through the silicon gate material in the vertical gate trench to partly uncover the upper side of the interlayer dielectric and so that a silicon gate region of a gate electrode of the semiconductor transistor device remains in the vertical gate trench, and depositing a metal material into the vertical gate trench so that the partly uncovered upper side of the interlayer dielectric is covered by the metal material.

  • Patent number: 12120298
Abstract: A video decoder for decoding an encoded video signal including encoded picture data and indication data of a picture of a video to reconstruct the picture of the video is provided. The video decoder includes an interface configured for receiving the encoded video signal, and a data decoder configured for reconstructing the picture of the video by decoding the encoded picture data using the indication data. The picture is partitioned into a plurality of coding areas. One or more coding areas of the plurality of coding areas include two or more coding tree units of the plurality of coding tree units, wherein each coding area of the one or more coding areas which includes two or more coding tree units exhibits a coding order for the two or more coding tree units of the coding area.

  • Patent number: 12097427
Abstract: Controlling an avatar in an XR environment can be based on input(s) from external, non-XR computing devices, such as mobile devices. An external device can capture sensor data, audio data, and/or image data, which are processed by an avatar control system to determine a gesture performed by the user, gauge the level of intensity or excitement of the user, and/or infer the user's sentiment or emotional state. The avatar control system can generate a motion plan based on these inferences drawn from the external device sensor data based on a baseline animation or motion template. The system can generate avatar animations that have exaggerated or understated expressions relative to the user's real-world gestures, possibly exceeding limitations of a kinematic model that otherwise constrain the avatar's animations. The technology can enable users to control an avatar in an XR environment without specialized XR equipment.

  • Patent number: 9585076
Abstract: Method in a wireless device for managing handover from a source cell to a target cell. When a first difference of a first quality measurement of a signal from the target cell minus a first quality measurement of a signal from the source cell is above a first threshold for a first time period, the wireless device sends a report to the source network node and receives a message to handover to the target cell. When a second difference of a second quality measurement of a signal from the target cell minus a second quality measurement of a signal from the source cell is above a second threshold value, for a second time period, the wireless device triggers handover to the target cell. When it is not above the second threshold value, for the second time period, it cancels the handover.
