  • Patent number: 11697100
Abstract: A device for cooling a fine-grained solid includes a fluidized bed cooler/heater in which the solid is fluidized with a fluidizing gas and thereby releases energy in the form of heat within the cooler/heater at least two cyclones which are connected in parallel. The cyclones are arranged such that after the fluidization of the solid the fluidizing gas passes through the cyclones so contained particles are removed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 1, 2019
Date of Patent: July 11, 2023
    Assignee: METSO OUTOTEC FINLAND OY
Inventors: Günter Schneider, Robert Maduta, Linus Perander, Eugen Weissenburger, Timo Hensler
  • Publication number: 20230001432
Abstract: A cyclone separator arrangement includes a preceding apparatus having an outlet, and a cyclone separator having an inlet. The arrangement further includes a crossover duct connected to the outlet and the inlet for supplying gas flow including particles from the preceding apparatus to the cyclone separator. The preceding apparatus has a horizontal inner diameter (D), and a flow channel having a cross-section having a height (H) and a width (d), said width (d) relating to the inner diameter (D) such that 0.15×D<d<0.6×D.

  • Patent number: 11428404
Abstract: A method and apparatus for combustion of fuel in a combustion chamber with a hydraulic diameter D. Fuel and a primary oxidant are introduced via a burner lance into the combustion chamber, having a certain mean velocity u1 at entry, and a secondary oxidant with a mean velocity of u2 is introduced into the combustion chamber. The burner lance has a position p that has a distance Id1I defined as the smallest distance between p and a combustion chamber centerline.

  • Patent number: 10792677
Abstract: A cyclone for the separation of solid particles and/or at least one liquid from a fluid, featuring a housing, an inlet opening for introducing the fluid together with the solid particles and/or the at least one liquid into the housing, a discharge port for the solid particles and/or the at least one liquid, a dip tube for discharging the fluid from the housing, and at least two guide vanes. Each guiding vanes shows a geometrical form with at least three edges e1, e2, e3. Further, each guide vane is directly or indirectly fixed to the housing with at least one edge e3 at a fixing point, whereby an area a is defined as the cross-sectional area of the housing intersecting the fixed edges e3. In addition, each guide vane shows at least two edges e1 and e2 which are not fixed to the housing, whereby the first edge e1 has a distance d1 and the second edge e2 has a distance d2, and whereby d1<d2 to the centerline c of the housing.
