  • Patent number: 4447631
Abstract: Tetramethylsilane/dimethyldichlorosilane admixtures are redistributed into trimethylchlorosilane by passing same, in vapor phase, through a reaction zone under mild temperatures and comprising a catalytic amount of anhydrous aluminum chloride granules. Preferably, the redistribution is conducted under atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 3978025
Abstract: Liquid methylvinylphenylsiloxane resins are provided which are suitable for coating electrical conductors; they possess the particular advantage that the surfaces of such coatings can be crosslinked such that the surfaces are not sticky. These resins comprise recurring units chosen from the formulae: CH.sub.3 SiO.sub.1.5, (CH.sub.3).sub.2 SiO, CH.sub.3 (CH.sub.2 =CH)SiO, CH.sub.3 (C.sub.6 H.sub.5 SiO, C.sub.6 H.sub.5 SiO.sub.1.5 and (C.sub.6 H.sub.5).sub.2 SiO and corresponding to the average general formula: ##EQU1## IN WHICH Q represents an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, x and y, which may be identical or different, each represent a number from 0.55 to 0.85, z represents a number from 0.08 to 0.35, u represents a number from 0.08 to 0.3, and w represents a positive number which does not exceed 0.1, the sum x + y + z being from 1.5 to 1.9, and having a functional group content E of from 2.5 to 2.9.
