  • Publication number: 20150138099
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and method for providing motion controlled virtual environment interaction are discussed herein. Some embodiments may provide for a mobile device including a display device, a motion detection device, and processing circuitry. The circuitry may be configured to detect various intensities of user movement, such as may be determine based on user motion data captured by an accelerometer, camera, and/or other motion sensor. Based on the intensities of user movement, the mobile device may be configured to advance the user within the virtual environment variable amounts. In some embodiments, the techniques discussed herein may be provided in connection with an exercise game including traversable virtual environments that can be played alone or with other networked devices.

  • Publication number: 20150136644
Abstract: Mobile device holders and related methods are discussed herein. Some embodiments may provide for a mobile device holder including a body portion and one or semi-rigid multifunction supports. The one or more semi-rigid multifunction supports may be attached to the body portion and may be pliably shaped into various configurations such the extension arms are capable of supporting the weight of the mobile device holder, thereby allowing the mobile device holder to be mounted or otherwise stationed in a wide variety of environments.

  • Publication number: 20080046377
Abstract: An Internet Box Office (IBO) system and technique vends digital content via a computer network, such as the Internet. The IBO system comprises a viewing system that cooperates with a Digital Rights Management system and various deployment enhancements within the Internet to provide an infrastructure that facilitates access to digital content in a manner that comports with copyright law and the control of intellectual property by the copyright owner. The IBO system enables a content copyright owner to retain control of its intellectual property while allowing a consumer to have transparent access to the copyright-protected content via the network. To that end, the IBO system operates to download and stage the copyrighted digital content on the viewing system of a consumer.

  • Patent number: 7163306
Abstract: A book light that is removably mounted to a book spine, has a flexible lamp support arm, and provides a rotational device that enables full 360 degree rotation of the lamp support arm about a longitudinal axis of the book spine such that a reader can comfortably hold and read a paperback book folded back upon itself with one hand, a page facing the reader is well illuminated, and subsequent pages can be illuminated by turning the folded book over to a new page and simply rotating the lamp support arm and lamp over the new reading page, all without having to remove and re-mount the book light from the book.

  • Publication number: 20060248213
Abstract: A technique for managing the streaming of digital video content to multiple clients involves identifying an attribute of a content element that is streamed to a client and selecting a protection mechanism for the content element as a function of the attribute, wherein the protection mechanism enables streaming of the content element to the clients in the event of a resource failure. In an example, the identified attribute is an indication of the popularity of the content element (e.g., as measured by the number of active streams), such that the protection mechanism is selected as a function of the popularity of the content element. In an embodiment, protection mechanisms that offer a higher level of protection are selected for the more popular content elements and protection mechanisms that offer a lower level of protection are selected for the less popular content elements.

  • Publication number: 20060248212
Abstract: A technique for streaming digital video content to multiple clients involves establishing a logical group of IP-connected stream servers, generating state information at multiple stream servers within the logical group, sharing the state information amongst stream servers in the logical group, and using the shared state information to respond to resource failures within the logical group. By sharing state information within the logical group of stream servers, stream servers with the shared state information can quickly take over the active streams from a failed stream server within the logical group. The quick transition of responsibility from one stream server to another enables the streaming network to provide continuous streaming of digital video content to the viewer without interruption.

  • Publication number: 20060214148
Abstract: An antipersonnel barrier system is disclosed which includes at least one concertina coil and a plurality of spaced support members. Each of the support members includes a base section and a vertical section. Each of the concertina coils is secured to the support members to provide a horizontally and vertically stabilized barrier. A length limiting cable is provided to limit the length of spacing between adjacent support members. The support members can include anchoring structure for securing the support members to a support surface. In one embodiment, the concertina coils include two small diameter base coils and a top coil positioned on the base coils.

  • Patent number: 6148854
Abstract: A leak detection system for detecting a fuel leak from a storage tank comsing a vertically positioned reference tube that spans the full useful length of the fuel tank which is generally located underground. The reference tube is filled and drained with the tank. The system also has a normally open pneumatic by-pass valve which when closed isolates the reference tube from the tank. A differential pressure gauge between the tank and reference tube reads zero pressure immediately after closure of the by-pass valve. A differential pressure reading between the tank and reference tube indicates the presence of fuel leakage from the tank. The inside of the reference tube is tapered at the top portion and bottom portion of the tube to match the cross sectional area of the tank upper dome and lower tank dome ends, while the outside diameter of the tube remains constant through out the length of the tube.
