Abstract: A insert nut for mounting a fastener to a soft or malleable material is disclosed. The insert nut includes a flanged head having at least one flat and a pilot extending from the flanged head. The flat of the insert nut is configured to abut a flat in the soft or malleable material and thereby inhibit rotation. The insert nut includes at least one tab arranged on an end of the pilot. The at least one tab is configured to be deformed into the soft or malleable material and thereby inhibit backing out of the insert nut from the soft or malleable material.

Abstract: A clinch pulley stud for mounting a pulley wheel to a plate is disclosed. The clinch pulley stud, the pulley wheel, and the plate may be assembled together using a cold forming process. The clinch pulley stud may have a relatively larger diameter head, a cylindrical shank which acts as the stub shaft for the pulley wheel, wherein an end of the cylindrical shank being remote from the head and being connected to a smaller diameter shank via a shoulder. The shoulder may be flat and/or include an annual groove into which the plate may be deformed. The clinch pulley stud may also include a threaded shaft extending beyond the smaller diameter shank. To resist rotation after the clinch pulley stud is cold formed to the plate, the clinch pulley stud includes one or more splines, ribs, studs, or flat facets on the shoulder or on the narrow shank against which the plate is cold formed.

Abstract: A captive fastener for plastics material has a head which bears on one side of the material. A shank is a close fit in an aperture in the material, and tabs are deformed over to trap the fastener in the material.
