Abstract: A method for authenticating an identity involves first receiving a first credential over a first communications channel, and determining a second communications channel provisionally associated with the first credential. The second communications channel is different from the first communications channel, and the first credential is provisionally associated with an identity. Then, a second credential is received over the second communications channel, and the identity is authenticated based on a verification of the second credential.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for management of entitlement to security operations. In one aspect of an embodiment, a method to secure digital content against unauthorized access, includes: receiving a request in a security application to invoke an operation on a digital artefact; and determining an entitlement to the operation in the security application, where the entitlement to the operation is not dependent upon entitlement to the digital artefact. In one embodiment, the entitlement to the operation in the security application is in addition to the entitlement to the digital artefact. In one embodiment, the entitlement to the operation is separate from the entitlement to the digital artefact. In one embodiment, the operation in the security application relates to confidentiality of the digital artefact.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for management of entitlement to security operations. In one aspect, a method for authentication, includes: determining an indication of a cursor being positioned over a graphical user interface element of a first application process for a period of time, where the first application process is to present information and the graphical user interface element has encrypted data obtained with the information; and in response to the indication: obtaining the encrypted data from the graphical user interface element; and determining whether or not the information is trusted using the encrypted data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for preconscious security feedback. In one aspect, a method for secure communication includes: displaying a first visual cue to indicate presence of security measure for communication while an operation for a secure communication transaction is in progress; and playing a first audio cue to indicate the presence of security measure for communication while the operation for the secure communication transaction is in progress. In one embodiment, the visual and/or audio cues used provide preconscious feeling of security based on familiarity and/or historical associations to security in particular cultures.
