  • Patent number: 8331478
Abstract: A system is provided for transmitting a low code rate spatially multiplexed channel on multiple antennas. The system includes a transmitter and a processor. The processor is configured such that the processor encodes a block of information bits to form channel coded bits, wherein the ratio of the number of channel coded bits to the number of information bits is greater than one; and the processor maps the channel coded bits to modulation symbols, and each channel coded bit is mapped once to a modulation symbol. The transmitter is configured to transmit a first portion of the modulation symbols using a spreading sequence on a first antenna of the multiple antennas and to transmit a second portion of the modulation symbols using the spreading sequence on a second antenna of the multiple antennas.

  • Patent number: 8325685
Abstract: A method for providing transmit diversity in wireless network communications is presented. An indication of a slot structure is received. The slot structure identifies at least a first location of a reference signal within a slot. A first reference signal is transmitted within a first slot using a first antenna. A location of the first reference signal within the first slot is determined by the slot structure. A second reference signal is transmitted within the first slot using a second antenna. A location of the second reference signal within the first slot is determined by the slot structure. In some cases, the slot structure identifies a second location of a reference signal within the slot structure. • Patent number: 8284238
Abstract: An image processing apparatus and a method for generating a three dimensional representation of a scene, which includes a plurality of objects disposed on a plane, is disclosed. The three dimensional representation is generated from one or more video images of the scene, which include the objects on the plane produced from a view of the scene by a video camera. The method includes processing the captured video images to extract image features from each object, comparing image features with sample image features from a predetermined set of possible example objects, and identifying the objects from the comparison of the image features with the sample image features. The method also includes generating object path data, which includes object identification data for each object which identifies the respective object; and provides a position of the object on the plane in the video images with respect to time.

  • Patent number: 8285872
Abstract: A router receives a transaction message. The router determines whether the transaction message may include an affinity indicating a preference regarding processing of the transaction message. The transaction message may be modified to include an identification of a server system to process the modified transaction message based on the determination of the affinity. The router may route the modified transaction message to a coupling facility. A notification message may be received from the coupling facility, where the notification message requests a server associated with or including the router to send a bid to process the modified transaction message. The router may send the bid to process the modified transaction message to the coupling facility. An authorization message, to process the modified transaction message, may be received from the coupling facility based on a timestamp of the bid.

  • Publication number: 20120254053
Abstract: A computer system provides a unified view of data for different organizations of a business. The accessed data may be distributed over different data sources that may include a data warehouse, operational databases (e.g., systems of records supporting different functions), production servers, and external data sources. Access to one or more of the data sources may be restricted based on a user profile. Data may also be accessed by directly tapping into the systems of record of a business to potentially reduce the duplication of data and provide the data in a timelier basis. Data may be obtained from the systems of record by pinging selected systems using an application programming interface and may be stored in a computing cloud that is not constrained to a particular physical asset of the business. In addition, the accessed data may be analyzed and presented differently based on the different lines of business.
