  • Patent number: 11679184
Abstract: A dialysis machine (e.g., a peritoneal dialysis (PD) machine) can include a pressure sensor mounted at a proximal end of a patient line made of a distensible material that provides PD solution to a patient through a catheter. During treatment, an occlusion can occur at different locations in the patient line and/or the catheter. When an incremental volume of additional solution is provided to the patient line while the occlusion is present, a change in pressure results. The change in pressure depends on dimensions and a distensibility of a non-occluded portion of the patient line. If the change in pressure, the incremental volume, properties related to the distensibility of the patient line, and some of the dimensions of the patient line are known, a location of the occlusion can be inferred. An occlusion type can be inferred based on the location of the occlusion.

  • Publication number: 20230082393
Abstract: A compact projector for eyewear including a refractive lens to achromatize an image and to reduce the size of the projector. The compact projector includes two total internal reflection (TIR) prisms, a polarizing beamsplitter, a quarter-wave plate, and the refractive lens combining refractive and reflective power, referred to as catadioptric. In one example, a light source generates light that is directed through a collector, into a first TIR prism, to the polarizing beamsplitter, and to a display panel. The display panel modulates the light and creates an image. The image is directed through the beamsplitter, into a second TIR prism, through a quarter-wave plate, and then to the refractive lens. The refractive lens reflects the image back into the second TIR prism, and which image then exits to a waveguide. In a second example, the display generates an illuminated image which is then processed as in the first example.

  • Patent number: 11585933
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a mapping system adapted for detecting objects in an environmental scene, by scanning an environmental scene with propagating energy, and receiving reflected energy back from objects present in the environmental scene, in a prioritized manner, for later use. The system may comprise an imaging subsystem which includes a detection and ranging subsystem for initially identifying primitive objects in the environmental scene. The imaging subsystem may also include an identification and mapping subsystem for prioritizing the primitive objects for further scanning and analysis, to ultimately identify one or more of the primitive objects as one or more abstract objects. An environmental model, updated in real time, is used to maintain a map of the primitive objects and the known abstract objects within the environmental scene, as new primitive objects and new abstract objects are obtained with repeated scans of the environmental scene.

  • Publication number: 20220404595
Abstract: A projection lens can include four lens elements, each lens element being formed from glass and including spherical or planar incident and exiting surfaces. Compared to a projection lens that uses three lens elements, the four-element projection lens has relaxed manufactured and alignment tolerances. Unlike a projection lens that uses one or more plastic elements or uses aspherical surfaces, the all-glass projection lens can be manufactured using relatively fast and inexpensive grinding and polishing techniques. One or two of the glass lens elements can optionally be formed symmetrically, so as to be reversible. One glass element can optionally be plano-convex. A right-angle prism can direct light from a video display into the four glass elements. An achromatic prism can angularly divert the optical axis by about eight degrees and can direct light out of the four glass elements into a near-eye waveguide.

  • Patent number: 11526505
Abstract: A database system receives a request from a user. The request invokes a data set function (DSF) and uses a property to be provided by the DSF. The database system determines that a function descriptor is available for the DSF. The function descriptor is expressed as markup language instructions. The function descriptor defines the property of the DSF. The database system uses the function descriptor to define a property for the DSF.

  • Publication number: 20220390322
Abstract: According to examples, a system for measuring polarization dependent loss (PDL) for a device-under-test (DUT) may include a tunable laser, a polarization element and a power meter. The tunable laser may emit an optical signal to sweep across an optical band at a constant rate. The polarization element may scramble polarizations states of the optical signal emitted from the tunable laser. The power meter may take power measurements associated with the optical signal emitted from the tunable laser, wherein the power measurements from the power meter are used to determine a maximum insertion loss (IL) and a minimum insertion loss (IL) associated with the device-under-test (DUT). An average insertion loss (IL) and a polarization dependent loss (PDL) for the device-under-test (DUT) may be calculated based on the maximum insertion loss (IL) and the minimum insertion loss (IL) associated with the device-under-test (DUT).

  • Publication number: 20220382121
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a coherent aperture array system for steering an optical source beam. The system may have a plurality of spaced apart, steerable emitters each being able to be mechanically aimed at a remote target location to steer portions of the source beam toward the target location. Each steerable emitter has a subaperture controllable independently of a remaining reflective surface of its associated steerable emitter, to receive and reflect a subportion of the source beam portion. The subportion forms a sense beam which is reflected toward a phase imaging system. A separate reference beam is created from the portion of the source beam travelling toward each steerable emitter. Each sense beam and each reference beam are thus associated uniquely with one of the steerable emitters. A phase imaging system is responsive to each of the reference beams and the sense beams, and determines phase differences between the portions of the source beam being transmitted from each steerable emitter.
