  • Publication number: 20240375895
Abstract: An assembly for varying pick normal force in an imaging device includes a spring mounted above a pick mechanism having a pick arm mounted at a first end thereof on a shaft and a pick roller mounted at a second end of the pick arm. A rib projects from the first end of the pick arm towards the spring such that the spring is in contact with the rib to impart a rotational force to the pick arm. The rib on the pick arm changes an amount of deflection of the spring as the angular position of the pick arm changes such that an amount of the rotational force imparted by the spring to the pick arm changes thereby changing an amount of a normal force applied by the pick roller to a media stack.

  • Publication number: 20240375896
Abstract: An assembly for restraining media in an input tray includes a pick mechanism having a pick arm mounted at a first end thereof on a shaft. A media stop is positioned to be engageable by a leading edge of the media when the media is disposed in the input tray. The media stop is held by the pick arm in a media stop position for restraining the media in a media loading position when the pick arm is in a raised position and is released by the pick arm from being held in the media stop position when the pick arm is in a lowered position. A spring mounted above the pick mechanism imparts a downward force at the first end of the pick arm for holding the pick arm in the raised position in order to hold the media stop member in the media stop position.

  • Patent number: 10264158
Abstract: A method for retiring a RFID copy sheet using an imaging device having a scanner system and a printer system, each system having a RFID reader programmer. The RFID copy sheet to be retired is scanned using one of the RFID reader programmers. After determining that the user is authorized to retire the RFID copy sheet, the RFID copy sheet is rescanned by a RFID reader programmer and its associated RFID tag is reprogrammed to indicate that the RFID copy sheet is retired. Document control of the retired RFID copy sheet may also be provided using a document lifecycle database that is updated with the retired status of the RFID copy sheet.

  • Patent number: 10002636
Abstract: A method for creating RFID copies from an original sheet using an imaging device having a scanner system and a printer system, each system having a RFID reader programmer. RFID copies made be made from an original sheet having a RFID tag or an original sheet having no RFID tag. Document control of the RFID copy may also be provided using a document lifecycle database and a user credentials database in communication with the imaging device.

  • Patent number: 9270837
Abstract: A system for calibrating a scan module of an automatic document feed (ADF) scanner. The system includes a rotatable frame disposed on a position opposite to an imaging surface of the ADF scanner. An image backer and a calibration surface portion formed along longitudinal portions of the frame extend substantially parallel to the imaging surface. The image backer and calibration surface portion have top surfaces of different reflectivity that respectively does not contact and contacts the imaging surface when the frame is rotated to position the image backer and the calibration surface portion in a field of view of the scan module. A drive mechanism coupled to the frame is controlled by a controller to rotate the frame and selectively position within the field of view of the image capture module the image backer during a scanning operation and the calibration surface portion during a calibration operation.
