Publication number: 20240126787Abstract: A system and method for managing data lifecycles that can provide an adaptable data management system configured to optimize the lifecycles of data and the reliability of databases. The system can provide data management systems with the ability to attach, detach, and drop segments of data based on key partitions of the data objects to optimize database utilization. By including the key partitions to the data objects, the database including the data objects can now perform data management operations based on the key partitions. The system, based on the key partitions, can identify a location of the data object to attach row entries, detach row entries from the existing tables, and delete the detached row entries from the database altogether. The system can operate on any relational database management system.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: BNSF Railway CompanyInventor: Robert McKinley Collins, JR.

Publication number: 20060228686Abstract: A method and system for assembling a test having a plurality of slots is disclosed. The method includes executing a test administration script to associate each of the plurality of slots of the test with an item collection from which an item to fill the slot is to be chosen and to determine a lookup table of optimization statistics and a degree of randomization to use in selecting items from the item collection. An interim test score is obtained based on a portion of the test previously assembled. Optimization statistics are applied to control a property of the test based on the interim score while taking into account the degree of randomization.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2005Publication date: October 12, 2006Applicant: ACT, INC.Inventors: Robert McKinley, Nancy Petersen, Judith Spray

Patent number: 6565296Abstract: The present invention provides a novel drill insert having chipbreakers, or chip splitting grooves formed through the cutting surfaces. The cutting tool insert has a specialized geometry including a chip splitting groove formed at a negative rake angle. The chip splitting grooves increase the cutting efficiency of the tool while allowing the edge strength to be increased while also allowing higher feed rates.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Allied Machine & Engineering Corp.Inventors: Robert McKinley, Joseph P. Nuzzi, Timothy G. Stokey

Patent number: 5708577Abstract: A regulated power supply includes a transformer having a primary winding coupled to an AC power line, and a secondary winding coupled to a rectifier. A storage capacitor is coupled through a switching transistor to the rectifier, where the storage capacitor provides a DC output power terminal. A control circuit having a comparator amplifier is coupled to the secondary winding and to the switching transistor, and compares the voltage from the secondary winding to a reference voltage value. The switching transistor is turned on from 0 to positive voltage values, as output by the rectifier, to regulate the voltage applied to the capacitor. The switching transistor switches off when the input voltage value equals or exceeds the reference value. Several passive circuit elements (e.g., diodes, resistor-capacitor networks, etc.) slow the turn on and turn off time of the switching transistor to help eliminate switching noises and other EMI.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1996Date of Patent: January 13, 1998Assignee: Audio ControlInventor: Meredith Robert Mckinley

Patent number: 4808946Abstract: An audio amplifier and power supply having a power transformer with power supply and control means to provide pulses of electrical energy at a substantially constant supply voltage, with the duration of the pulses being dependent upon a value that is related to the demands of the amplifier. The transformer charges a power capacitor to a substantially constant voltage to supply power for the amplifier. The frequency range of the pulses is between about 400 to 2,000 cycles per second, with a frequency being at about 1,100 cycles per second in a preferred embodiment.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1986Date of Patent: February 28, 1989Inventors: Robert W.
