  • Publication number: 20250223647
Abstract: A method for screening stroke suspects, comprising the steps of extracting RNA from a blood sample of a stroke suspect, generating a transcriptome profile of the stroke suspect based on the RNA extracted from the blood sample, analyzing the transcriptome profile of the stroke suspect to generate a report indicating whether the stroke suspect suffered a stroke and, in the case that the stroke suspect suffered a stroke, whether the stroke is an ischemic stroke or a hemorrhagic stroke.

  • Publication number: 20250201404
Abstract: A method to distinguish epileptic seizure from psychogenic non-epileptic seizure using blood RNA profiles. This assay involved the collection of a blood sample from a patient upon admission to a medical facility, the extraction of RNA from the blood sample, detection of RNA expression patterns and use of bioinformatic tools to detect a profile that matches that of psychogenic non-epileptic seizure vs other forms of seizure, or acute neurological crisis.

  • Publication number: 20230250481
Abstract: A method of distinguishing a subject with pre-clinical Alzheimer's disease from those with similar symptoms but other forms of dementia such as mild cognitive impairment. The blood RNA whole transcriptome profile of a subject with suspected pre-clinical Alzheimer's disease is obtained and analyzed against a reference blood RNA whole transcriptome profile from a subject with another form of dementia such as frontal temporal dementia, CADASIL or mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The blood RNA whole transcriptome profile includes the presence and quantitation of ncRNA. Methods to enhance treatment of epileptic seizures are also discussed.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 27, 2023
    Publication date: August 10, 2023
Inventors: Robert MELLER, Roger P. SIMON
