  • Patent number: 9140129
Abstract: The turbomachine has a ring of radial blades which are connected to an annular end wall. Situated on the end wall upstream of each blade is a deflector wedge with two divergent guide surfaces. The deflector wedge generates pressure-side and suction-side vortices of which the vortices caused by the blade cascade are altered such that the transverse flow and backflow areas on the blade are reduced, and therefore the edge zone losses are decreased.

  • Publication number: 20150119113
Abstract: A graphical user interface to provision business environments on mobile devices presents a navigation panel that displays a virtual phone template menu item and a policy setting menu item. Upon selection of the virtual phone template menu item, a template user interface is presented that enables an administrator to customize virtual phone image templates for users to be delivered to mobile devices that are configured to run the virtual phone image templates as virtual machines on the mobile devices in order to provide a business environment. Upon selection of the policy setting menu item, a policy user interface is presented that enables the administrator to set security policies, wherein each of the security policies specifies a time interval within which a mobile device running a virtual machine corresponding to one of the virtual phone image templates should communicate with an enterprise server to comply with the security policy.

  • Publication number: 20150079256
Abstract: A method of storing potatoes comprises storing a plurality of endodormant or ecodormant potatoes in a first gaseous environment including carbon dioxide in an amount of from greater than the amount of carbon dioxide present in atmospheric air to up to 5 mol % based on the composition of the first gaseous environment; and in a subsequent storage step storing the potatoes in a second gaseous environment including carbon dioxide in an amount of from 0.03 to 2 mol % based on the composition of the second gaseous environment, the first and second gaseous environments having different carbon dioxide contents. The method may comprise: monitoring the dormancy of the potatoes; in response to eye movement of a potato, changing the first gaseous environment to a second gaseous environment; maintaining a level of carbon dioxide in the second gaseous environment below a selected threshold to control sugar content of the potatoes.

  • Publication number: 20140365951
Abstract: A calendar view smoothly and progressively transitions between different calendar views. Instead of snapping to a week view in response to changing from a month view to the week view, the month view progressively transitions to the week view while receiving an interaction. For example, the week view may smoothly expand while the view of the other weeks in the month smoothly decrease in size while the interaction is being received. A user may navigate between different calendar views such as year to month, month to week, week to multiple days, days to single days, and the like. When navigating month to month, week to week, day to day, and the like, the transitions between each time element are progressively and smoothly transitioned. Task information or other information that is displayed in the calendar progressively transitions to show more or less information depending on the interaction being received.

  • Publication number: 20140351296
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to determining a data insertion point in a data layout based on relative cardinalities between data objects and to determining a data insertion point in a data layout based on defined hierarchies between data objects. In an embodiment, a computer system receives a user input indicating that an additional portion of information is to be added to an existing data layout which includes multiple different data objects. The computer system accesses the data objects to determine relative cardinalities between the data objects in the data layout. The computer system determines an optimal data insertion point for inserting the additional portion of information based on the determined relative cardinalities between the data objects. The computer system also inserts the additional portion of information in the existing data layout at the determined optimal data insertion point.

  • Publication number: 20140280229
Abstract: Techniques are provided for generating descriptions of matching resources in a manner that takes into account the kind, quality, and relevance of the available sources of information about the matching resources. For example, after the search engine identifies matching resources based on the query terms, the search engine determines the kinds of available sources of information about each matching resource. For each matching resource, based on the kinds of available sources of information about the matching resource, one of a plurality of processes is selected to generate a description for the matching resource. Using the content-sensitive description generation techniques described herein, a single result set may include abstracts that were generated using several different processes, where the difference in process corresponds to a difference in the kind, quality, and relevance of the available sources of information about each matching resource.

  • Publication number: 20140282252
Abstract: Operating a range slider. A method includes displaying a range slider in a graphical user interface. The method further includes detecting a minimum selecting user interaction on a graphical user interface. The method further includes placing the minimum slider thumb at value on the slider track by placing the inside edge of the minimum slider thumb on the value to select the minimum endpoint of the selected range at the inside edge of the minimum slider thumb. The method further includes detecting a maximum selecting user interaction on the graphical user interface. The method further includes placing the maximum slider thumb at a value on the slider track by placing the inside edge of the maximum slider thumb on the value to select the maximum endpoint of the selected range at the inside edge of the maximum slider thumb.

  • Publication number: 20140164429
Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for persisting instance-level report customizations. Input is received from a user to run an original report. An original query associated with the original report is executed against a data store. The original report is displayed to the user. At least one instance-level customization is received from the user to customize an instance of the original report. The instance-level customizations that the user makes to the customized report are tracked in a manner that allows a history of changes from the original report to the customized report to be determined. The customized report is generated in subsequent executions of the report. The instance-level changes the user made to the report can be audited to allow users to see the changes made to the original report.
