  • Publication number: 20080100250
Abstract: A system and method for operating robots in a robot competition. One embodiment of the system may include operator interfaces, where each operator interface is operable to control movement of a respective robot. A respective operator interface may be in communication with an associated operator radio, where each radio may have a low power RF output signal. A robot controller may be coupled to each robot in the robot competition. A robot radio may be coupled to a respective robot and in communication with a respective robot controller and operator radio. The robot radios may have a low power RF output signal while communicating with the respective operator radios. Alternatively, the radios may be short range radios, where a distance of communication may be a maximum of approximately 500 feet.

  • Publication number: 20070227992
Abstract: A sliding support shelf supports equipment within a rack system regardless of its design. The base of the support shelf includes a surface capable of supporting the equipment reducing unintended movement of the equipment, providing security of the supported equipment, and enhancing ventilation of the equipment. A slide is associated with the base to allow the base to move with respect to the rack. The slide lacks ball bearings, but provides smooth movement of the base without requiring direct attachment to the equipment. Cable management arms are integral to the base to manage the various cables and the like associated with the equipment. The method of the present invention comprises steps of use of the support shelf with various designs of racks and types and dimensions of equipment to be supported.

  • Publication number: 20070135017
Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method for providing a soft-start for a toy vehicle configured to be operated by a person. The method includes receiving a throttle signal operable to induce motion via a motor operating as a drive mechanism of the toy vehicle. A transition signal may be generated based on the throttle signal. The transition signal may be applied to effect operation of the motor. The transition signal may be a pulse width modulated signal having a duty cycle between 20 and 100 percent to provide for an acceleration that avoids the problems of conventional control systems. The transition signal may be ramped in a linear or non-linear fashion. The system may couple the soft-start control circuit between a ground terminal of a battery of the toy vehicle and motor(s), thereby allowing the soft-start control circuit to operate on a low voltage (i.e., not the high voltage of the battery).

  • Publication number: 20070131628
Abstract: A support and method for supporting equipment within a rack system regardless of its design is disclosed. The base of the support includes a surface capable of supporting the equipment reducing unintended movement of the equipment. Brackets capable of being securely attached to the rack system, regardless of whether it is two-post or four-post in design, are associated with the base of the support. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of selecting a design of rack system, attaching the support of the present system, and placement of the equipment to be supported.
