  • Patent number: 9976499
Abstract: An engine system includes a plurality of cylinders including one or more donating cylinders and one or more non-donating cylinders. A control module controls an operation of the one or more donating cylinders relative to, or based on, the operation of the one or more non-donating cylinders.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 18, 2015
Date of Patent: May 22, 2018
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Sebastian Freund, Jassin Fritz, Robert Mischler, David Zielinski, Luke Michael Henry

  • Patent number: 8527183
Abstract: A controller, in electrical communication with the one or more of the injectors and a high-pressure fuel pump, generates a first signal responsive to which the valve in the injector opens or closes and a second signal responsive to which the high-pressure fuel pump increases or decreases the pressure level in the fuel accumulator. The system may also include one or more sensors to detect a pressure within the air manifold and to detect the pressure within the fuel accumulator. The controller is programmed to calculate an in-cylinder gas pressure. When the engine is operating at a maximum engine load and the in-cylinder gas pressure reaches or exceeds a maximum pressure limit, the controller transmits one or more signals to adjust the fuel injection timing and/or adjust the pressure in the fuel accumulator to maintain NOx and fuel consumption within acceptable limits.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 26, 2009
Date of Patent: September 3, 2013
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Shawn M. Gallagher, Roy Primus, Bhaskar Tamma, Jennifer Topinka, Robert Mischler, Rajani Boddu

  • Patent number: 5879685
Abstract: Immunostimulating reconstituted influenza virosomes (IRIVs) are provided wherein an antigen or a combination of antigens are incorporated into a virosome further containing a mixture of phospholipids, an essentially reconstituted functional virus envelope, and influenza hemagglutinin protein (HA). The HA induces fusion of the IRIV with cellular membranes and thereby induces lysis of the IRIV after its endocytosis by antigen presenting cells.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 11, 1994
Date of Patent: March 9, 1999
Assignee: Schweiz, Serum- & Impfinstitut Bern
    Inventors: Reinhard Gluck, Robert Mischler
  • Patent number: 5565203
Abstract: Disclosed are immunostimulating reconstituted influenza virosomes (IRIVs) comprising reconstituted functional virus envelopes containing an inactivated hepatitis A virus and an influenza hemagglutinin protein (HA) or a peptide with the amino terminal 21 amino acid residue segment of HA.sub.2 which induces the fusion of the IRIVs with cellular membranes and the lysis of the IRIV. A vaccine containing the hepatitis A IRIVs is also disclosed.
