  • Patent number: 9743302
Abstract: An apparatus determining network health in a network comprising base station transceivers in bidirectional communication with radios, each having an identifier and transmitting a signal including the identifier. First and second devices each receive the transmitted signal during normal over-the-air operation of the radio, measure signal parameters, and determine operating characteristics of the radio from the parameters. Each of the devices produce a responsive received signal when the first operating characteristics determined by the first device indicate a healthy first radio and the second device produces a responsive received signal when the second operating characteristics determined by the second device indicate a healthy first radio. The devices determine respective signal parameters of the respective received signals. The received signals are time aligned to insure that the devices have determined the respective signal parameters of the same transmitted signal.

  • Publication number: 20170083696
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure are directed towards providing feedback to users of multi-user system that has biometric recognition capabilities, so that a user knows whether the system has correctly associated the user with his or her identity. The feedback may include a display of a current camera view, along with visible identity information that is associated with each user in the view. The feedback may include per-user icons (e.g., tiles, thumbnail images and so on) by which a user visually confirms that he or she is correctly recognized. Any misrecognition may be detected via the feedback and corrected. Feedback may convey other information, such as the current interaction state/capabilities of a user.

  • Patent number: 9494710
Abstract: A method performed with a computing system for determining well integrity includes receiving a selection of a well configuration of a well, and receiving a selection of a wellbore operation performed with the well configuration. The selected well configuration includes one or more casing strings and a production tubing extending from adjacent a wellhead of the well to adjacent a bottom of the well. In some examples, the method further includes determining, based on the well configuration and the wellbore operation, a characteristic of the well at or adjacent the one or more casing strings and the production tubing during the wellbore operation, and modifying the well configuration to remove the production tubing. In some examples, the method still further includes determining, based on the modified well configuration and the wellbore operation, the characteristic of the well at or adjacent the one or more casing strings during the wellbore operation.

  • Publication number: 20160290089
Abstract: Systems and related methods are disclosed for applying electrorheological fluids in hydro-carbon-producing environments. The systems include a fluid-retaining member having a conductive inner surface and a conductive outer surface. The fluid-retaining member retains a smart fluid. The systems also include a controller that is electrically coupled to a power source and at least one of the conductive inner surface and conductive outer surface of the fluid-retaining member to actuate an electric field or magnetic field across fluid-retaining member. Actuation of the electric field or magnetic field results in a near instantaneous increase in the viscosity of the fluid, causing the fluid to solidify, nearly solidify, gel or otherwise increase in viscosity. The actuated fluid retaining member may be used as a well casing, an isolator, a blowout inhibitor, or in a well insulation system to absorb energy in the event of an explosion.
