  • Publication number: 20160095067
Abstract: A process for adjusting base station transmit power to reduce power consumption in a wireless radio system, the method includes causing, by a radio controller, a message to be transmitted on a control channel in the wireless radio system proposing a transmit power reduction with respect to a traffic channel in the wireless radio system. Subsequently monitoring, by the radio controller, one or both of the control channel and the traffic channel for an indication from a mobile station affected by the proposed power reduction that the proposed power reduction is unacceptable. And modifying, by the radio controller, as a function of the presence or absence of the indication, the transmit power of the traffic channel.

  • Publication number: 20160026850
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying fingers in contact with a touch screen is provided herein. During operation, a device will attempt to identify a particular finger pattern in contact with the touch screen by identifying fingers in contact with a touch screen. The fingers in contact with the touch screen are preferably identified by determining a fingerprint for each finger in contact with the touch screen. When a fingerprint for all fingers cannot be identified, a fingerprint map will be used to determine those fingers most likely in contact with the touch screen.

  • Patent number: 9189347
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for providing improved reliability via redundant voting systems. The voting systems are operable to vote on a signal received by a plurality of base stations in a communication system. A first voting processor transmits a message to the plurality of base stations indicating a return base station to voting processor (BS-VP) multicast address. A plurality of multicast messages addressed to the return multicast address are then received from the plurality of base stations and associated with a particular signal received from a signal source by each of the plurality of base stations. The first voting processor determines a recovered signal, and responsive to the first voting processor determining that the second voting processor is no longer operational, transmits the recovered signal to a voting processor to infrastructure (VP-IN) multicast address associated with an infrastructure device and the first and second voting processors.
