  • Patent number: 10405204
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for optimizing spectral efficiency in a network. One or more metrics of one or more wireless access points that enable one or more wireless client devices to connect to a wireless network are monitored. The one or more metrics reflect a level of client device activity. Based on the one or more metrics, the level of client device activity is determined to require a change in a number of the one or more wireless access points that are active to serve the one or more wireless client devices. The one or more wireless access points are activated or deactivated to improve a spectral efficiency of the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 10315910
Abstract: A nozzle for a dispensing spout provides physically separate conduits, through which a liquid and air pass between a reservoir containing a liquid to be dispensed and a container into which the liquid is to be dispensed. The fluid and air conduits, as well as their respective opposing ends, are sized and shaped to provide an unobstructed air conduit which can carry ambient air into the reservoir at a rate that is at least equal to the rate at which liquid can flow out of the reservoir at a gravitational flow rate.

  • Publication number: 20180355974
Abstract: A tadpole-type gasket and a method of fabrication. The gasket includes a core and a jacket. One embodiment of the jacket includes a woven fabric strip in which the warp threads are omitted from the strip in two separated portions to form first and second longitudinally extending drop warp portions with weft yarns joining completely woven portions on either side. The strip is wrapped about the core so that the drop warp portions overlie each other, and completely woven portions of the strip overly each other. Portions of the completely woven portions are secured together. The weft yarns in the overlying drop warp portions are readily separated to push a fastener therethrough. In another embodiment, the jacket includes slitted portions which overlie each other, which are readily separated by a fastener.

  • Publication number: 20140114700
Abstract: A variable resolution grid provides a mechanism for focusing specific concentrations of risk exposure on a geographical grid to determine projected loss caused by a particular catastrophe. The geographic grid provides a stable base map by using latitudes and longitudes to define the grid points and cells. Each cell is assigned a geographic identifier or geocode that identifies the location of the cell and its associated resolution. The resolution of the grid may be varied depending in part, on the resolution of any available of hazard data.

  • Patent number: 8393117
Abstract: Building means, having a main plate 1, a flexible sheet 2 attached thereto, a first bolt portion 4 extending outwards of the plate 1 and an opposite second bolt portion 5 extending outwards of the plate. The building means formed such that when it is in use a structural member can be fastened to the first bolt 4 portion while at the same time the plate 1 is arranged behind exterior cladding 8 of a building. A ledge 2a, after it has been bent into shape, extends to beyond the cladding so that rainwater contacting the first face of the plate portion can run down the first face and be guided by the ledge to a drain away position in front of the cladding.
