    Abstract: A stick type bass drum mallet is disclosed which includes a plurality of elongated, substantially straight, wooden, bamboo or nylon rods in which surround a metal shaft to form a bundle. At least one retainer is needed to secure the bundle tightly together where the shaft is inserted into the bundle. A second retainer may be added to the striking end for tonal differences.
