  • Publication number: 20240076078
Abstract: A corner post application system for a load having corners includes corner post applicators and moveable corner post holders. The corner post applicators include a corner post gripper configured to grasp a corner post, with the corner post applicators configured to move the corner post to a corner of the load. The corner post holders each have a clamp and are moveable between a retracted position and an engaged position, where in the engaged position the clamp is configured to engage a respective corner post to press the corner post against the load at the respective corner. When the corner post holders are in the engaged position the corner post applicators are configured to be retracted with the corner posts being held in engagement with the corners of the load by the corner post holders to enable an enveloping machine to initiate placement of a film over the load.

  • Patent number: 6553336
Abstract: A remote monitoring system includes transducers, a transducer control module, a communications device, a monitoring system and end-user display terminals. The transducers are disposed on the property and/or equipment in a manner to measure specific characteristics or parameters and communicate with the transducer control module via a wireless communication protocol. The transducer control module receives and analyzes transducer measurements and detects alarm conditions. The transducer control module communicates with the monitoring system via a wide area network and the communications device. The monitoring system receives, stores and analyzes information received from the transducer control module and reports the information to the end-user terminals via a wide area network, such as the Internet, in response to user requests.

  • Publication number: 20020187880
Abstract: A recreational device having a large rotatable outer wheel, a frame disposed internally within the wheel and about which the wheel is rotatable, a pivotable foot platform attached to the frame, and a tail wheel assembly disposed aft of the large wheel and coupled to the platform. In use a rider stands on the platform, preferably in a sideways stance, and grasps hand grips on the frame members and steers the wheel by applying torque to the frame. The tail wheel assembly is coupled to the foot platform by pulleys and cable such that pivoting of the platform causes pivoting of the tail wheel assembly to aid in steering the device. A hand brake can be provided to control the speed of rotation of the wheel about the frame. A nose wheel assembly can be provided having a nose wheel forward of the large wheel and which can engage the ground during braking to aid in stable operation. The tail assembly can be folded for ease of storage and transport.

  • Patent number: 4594944
Abstract: A system for manually setting a timing value of an electronic fuze for an artillery projectile prior to firing without tools or electric power, and for displaying the set timing value in standard decimal format. Two adjacent setting rings, disposed about the outside of the fuze housing, are interconnected together with the housing so that one ring rotates with the other ring when the other ring is manually rotated in one direction about the housing axis, but is prevented from rotating when the other ring is rotated in an opposite direction about the housing axis. Each ring carries a plurality of numbers disposed about its outer periphery such that one of the numbers is axially aligned with an indication mark on the fuze housing at each setting of the ring. The two series of numbers are oriented laterally so that the two numbers aligned with the indication mark constitute the desired timing value.

  • Patent number: 4302006
Abstract: A recreational device which approximates the feel of downhill skiing without either skis or snow is described in which the device includes a rotatable outer tire and an inner ring which is carried by roller bearing means within the tire. The inner ring is provided with a pivotably mounted platform adapted to provide a foot support for an individual, with the platform in one embodiment including a backwardly projecting extension which serves as a stabilizing tail. An individual utilizing the recreational device is provided with a cross bar secured at waist level to the inner ring via a trapeze arrangement. The size of the ring/tire combination is such that its vertically extending height exceeds that of the largest individual to be accommodated when the individual is standing upright, such that the center of gravity of the ring/tire combination is well above the center of gravity of the individual, thereby creating stability and ease of turning.

  • Patent number: 4284862
Abstract: An acceleration actuated switch is disclosed which is capable of distinguishing between random and brief acceleration forces on the one hand and sustained acceleration forces on the other hand. The device comprises a stationary electrical contact and a movable contact held in position by biasing means. Sustained acceleration forces in a particular direction will drive the movable contact along a fixed path to a position whereat the biasing means may bring the movable contact into proximity with the stationary contact thereby closing the switch. If the acceleration force is not in the proper direction or is not applied to the switch for a sufficient length of time, the biasing means will return the movable contact to its original position thereby maintaining the switch in an open condition.
