  • Patent number: 4800670
Abstract: Fishing lures which releasably secure chemiluminescent capsules therein. Releasable mountings are sized to receive and snuggly hold the resilient chemiluminescent capsules and enable them to be readily removed and replaced, despite possible variances in length. In one group of preferred embodiments, the chemiluminescent capsules are mounted in the interior of a transparent lure for easy insertion and removal. Another preferred embodiment enables a chemiluminescent capsule to be readily affixed to a segment of fishing line using straps without cutting of the line. Another embodiment has the capsule attached to loops formed in the shank of a hook.

  • Patent number: 4777756
Abstract: A fising jig using a chemiluminescent capsule. The jig includes an elongated, weighted fish shaped body having a longitudinal extending cavity for receiving and holding the chemiluminescent capsule therein. The cavity has a pair of light emitting openings in the opposite sidewalls of the body communicating with the cavity. A continuous bore extends longitudinally and fully through the body from the forward to the rearward end, and a resilient tubular line guide is disposed in the bore. The line guide is a resilient Teflon tube having a lengthwise bore with a low friction, nonchaffing interior wall surface. The line guide bore is sized to loosely receive a fishing line and allows the free sliding of the jig along the line and the free rotation of the jig about the line during usage. The line guide has a resilient forward end portion extending out of the body bore at the body forward end by a distance sufficient to provide a shock absorbing action as the jig wobbles on the line during usage.

  • Patent number: 4700504
Abstract: A fishing lure with a hollow body fabricated of transluscent fluorescent polymer material with opposing sidewall portions having interior scale-like protrusions with smooth surface portions and edge surface portions. A transluscent cylindrical holder is transversely positioned within the body to receive a chemiluminescent capsule. A double-sided light reflective sheet is centrally positioned within a cavity formed within the body and extends rearwardly between the protrusions formed on each body sidewall to reflect light generated by the capsule and ambient light outward toward the protrusions. The light impinging upon the protrusion smooth portions is converted to fluorescent light and intensified for emission from the edge portions at a high brightness level.

  • Patent number: 4589221
Abstract: A fishing lure having a sealed tubular container of chemicals for generating chemiluminescent light upon mixture, and a body having an elongated, cylindrical portion with a cavity for removably retaining the tubular container therein. The cavity has an end wall opening for insertion of the tubular container and the cavity is sized to slidably receive and frictionally engage the tubular container. The body is flexible and translucent, and has a flexible tail portion attached thereto. In a second embodiment, the body has flexible side walls with a longitudinal opening therethrough for insertion of the tubular container into the cavity. In both embodiments, the cavity is oriented substantially coaxial with the elongated body. In another embodiment of the fishing lure, the body has a rigid spoon shape, and retainer clips are fixedly attached to the body and releasably engage the chemiluminescent light tubular container.

  • Patent number: 4581839
Abstract: Fishing lures which include means for releasably securing chemiluminescent capsules therein. Releasable mountings are sized to receive and snuggly hold the resilient chemiluminescent capsules and enable them to be readily popped out and replaced, despite possible variances in length. In one group of preferred embodiments, the chemiluminescent capsules are releasably mounted within a reflective plate to illuminate both sides of the plate. In another group of preferred embodiments, the chemiluminescent capsules are mounted in the interior of an opaque lure for easy insertion and removal. Another preferred embodiment enables a chemiluminescent capsule to be readily affixed to a segment of fishing line.
