  • Patent number: 5950875
Abstract: A dispenser for mixing foam precursor chemicals and dispensing the foamable mixture includes a first module containing shutoff valves and a second module containing a dispensing valve assembly. The dispensing valve assembly includes a valve body of a self-lubricating material and a valving rod which is reciprocatingly retracted in a valve passage of the valve body to uncover orifices which supply the precursor fluids into the valve passage, from which the mixed chemicals are dispensed. The dispensing valve assembly includes a die spring which urges a washer to compress the valve body along its axis to help prevent cold flow of the valve body away from the valving rod. The valving rod is scraped by inner surfaces of the hole in the washer through which the valving rod is retracted and extended. The die spring is preloaded and retained by a load cylinder which is fixed in the bore in the second housing which contains the dispensing valve.
