Patent number: 11675434Abstract: A photoplethysmography (PPG) circuit obtains PPG signals at one or more wavelengths. The PPG signal is processed to identify motion artifacts. The motion artifacts are correlated with predetermined PPG signal patterns associated with movement of a body part or a control command for a user device. The PPG signals may thus be used to detect movement of the body part or determine a control command. A user device may be controlled in response to the determined control command.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2019Date of Patent: June 13, 2023Assignee: TRILINEAR BIOVENTURES, LLCInventor: Robert Newberry

Patent number: 10672298Abstract: A blood flow simulator generates a compression and expansion in a test fluid that emulates the pressure waveform created by a heartbeat in blood flow. The blood flow simulator stores a plurality of pressure waveform files that include actual data recorded from a heartbeat, arterial pressure waveform, or venous pressure waveform. One or more of the pressure waveform files may be selected and the pressure waveform file is used by the blood flow simulator 100 to generate a pressure waveform in pressurized fluid. The pressurized fluid flows through a test site, such as a surrogate body part or an optical window or other component with material having similar properties to human tissue. Various target substances may also be added to the fluid in known concentrations for testing and configuration of medical devices at the test site.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2017Date of Patent: June 2, 2020Assignee: SANMINA CORPORATIONInventors: Robert Newberry, Matthew Rodencal, Nate Roth

Publication number: 20070250761Abstract: A network media delivery system includes client devices and a host device. Each client device has a network interface, an engine for processing media data, and a media interface. The host device, which can be a computer, establishes network communication links with the client devices, which can be networked media stations, and sends media data to the client devices. The media data can be sent wirelessly as packets of media data transmitted at intervals to each client device. In one embodiment, the host device controls processing of media data such that processed media is delivered in a synchronized manner at each of the client devices. In another embodiment, the host device controls processing of media data such that processed media is delivered in a synchronized manner at the host device and at least one client device.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2007Publication date: October 25, 2007Inventors: Bob Bradley, Robert Newberry

Patent number: 7257472Abstract: A data protocol converter has two interfaces, one of which can be connected to a standard vehicle diagnostic interface, and the other permitting wireless message transfer using a diagnostic handset. A data protocol translator converts the messages from the standard vehicle diagnostic interface into messages having a wireless data format, so that they can be received in the diagnostic handset using the latter's wireless interface. The data protocol converter has a further interface so that it can be connected to a second standard diagnostic interface according to a different standard. The data protocol translator can convert the messages from the second standard vehicle diagnostic interface into messages having a wireless data format.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2004Date of Patent: August 14, 2007Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AGInventors: Wolfgang Hauer, Robert Newberry
