The encasement includes a first end, a second end, a first side, a second side, an upper portion, a lower portion, an interior portion, an opening at the first end and in communication with the interior portion, and a flap at the first end. The flap is moveable from an open position, in which the flap is outside of the opening, and a closed position, in which the flap is within the opening. The flap overlays at least a portion of the core when the flap is in its closed position.

Abstract: A flame-retardant bedding product, such as a pillow or mattress topper, includes an inner core, an inner cover, and an outer cover. The inner cover covers the inner core. The inner cover comprises a knit fabric. The knit fabric has a weight of at least 225 grams per square meter (gsm). The outer cover covers the inner cover.

Abstract: A pillow includes a first pillow half having an outer surface and an inner surface and a second pillow half having an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface of the first pillow half contacts the inner surface of the second pillow half. The first pillow half defines a first interior concavity in the inner surface of the first pillow half. The first interior cavity extends into an interior of the first pillow half.

Abstract: A system for writing fiber gratings has a plurality of writing stations, each writing station including a fiber mounting fixture for receiving an optical fiber to be exposed to a beam from a laser. The system includes a data capture module for capturing data generated from the exposure of optical fibers in each of the writing stations, and a steering assembly for directing the laser beam to each of the plurality of writing stations in turn.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for marking marine channels. A single laser beam is selectively interrupted to produce an identifying on/off laser beam sequence distinguishable by the human eye. The laser beam is then expanded in terms of beam diameter during specifically timed periods of laser beam transmission. The expanded laser beam is projected along a beam path that is substantially along the center of a marine channel to be marked at a height above the water's surface. The height of the beam path is selected such that marine traffic may pass under the beam path without obstructing same.
