Patent number: 10463737Abstract: Silicone acrylate copolymer composition, namely, silicone resin-acrylate copolymers and methods of preparing the same. The silicone acrylate composition may include a silicone resin coupled with an acrylate polymer via a linking group. The silicone acrylate composition may be formed by preparing an acrylate or a (meth)acrylate functional resin and carrying out acrylate polymerization in the presence of a functionalized resin. A silane-functional acrylate polymer may be prepared, followed by a reaction to couple a resin to the silane-functional acrylate polymer. The resulting copolymer may then be used as desired, e.g., added to a silicone and acrylate mixture to create a non-separating blend.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2016Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: DOW CORNING CORPORATIONInventors: Robert O Huber, Gary Lee Loubert, Gerald K Schalau, II, Simon Toth

Patent number: 10316228Abstract: A multi-phase silicone acrylic hybrid visco-elastic composition prepared by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a silicon-containing pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising acrylate or methacrylate functionality in a first solvent in the presence of an initiator, removing the first solvent, and adding a second solvent to form the multi-phase silicone acrylic hybrid visco-elastic composition. Alternatively, a multi-phase silicone acrylic hybrid visco-elastic composition prepared by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a silicon-containing pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising acrylate or methacrylate functionality in a first solvent in the presence of an initiator, adding a processing solvent having a higher boiling point than the first solvent, applying heat to selectively remove a majority of the first solvent, removing the processing solvent, and adding a second solvent to form the multi-phase silicone acrylic hybrid visco-elastic composition.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2016Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: DOW SILICONES CORPORATIONInventors: Chana Wilson Evans, Robert O. Huber, Linda S. Nartker, Gerald K. Schalau, II, Xavier Thomas, Simon Toth

Patent number: 8586669Abstract: Silicone paste compositions are disclosed by combining a silicone organic elastomer gel with water or a hydrophilic solvent. The silicone paste compositions may further contain a personal or healthcare active. The silicone organic elastomer gel is prepared by reacting in a carrier fluid an organohydrogensiloxane with two polyoxyalkylenes, the first polyoxyalkylene having aliphatic unsaturation at both each molecular termini, and the second polyoxyalkylene having aliphatic unsaturation at one molecular terminal.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2010Date of Patent: November 19, 2013Assignee: Dow Corning CorporationInventors: John Joseph Kennan, Kathryn Elizabeth Messner, Isabelle Van Reeth, Robert O. Huber, Gerald K. Schalau, II, Concettina Scavuzzo

Patent number: 8569416Abstract: This invention provides a single phase silicone acrylate formulation that resists phase separation and includes (A) at least one of a silicone, an acrylate, and combinations thereof. The single phase silicone acrylate formulation also includes (B) a silicone acrylate hybrid compatibilizing agent including silicone functionality and (meth)acrylate functionality and that is the reaction product of a silicon-containing pressure sensitive adhesive composition, a (meth)acrylate, and an initiator. A method of minimizing phase separation of the single phase silicone acrylate formulation includes the step of combining (A) and (B) to form the single phase silicone acrylate formulation.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2011Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignees: Dow Corning Corporation, Dow Corning France SASInventors: Chana Wilson Evans, Robert O. Huber, David P. Kanios, Gary Lee Loubert, Tiffany Anne Menjoulet, Timothy Paul Mitchell, Linda Sue Nartker, Xavier Jean-Paul Thomas

Publication number: 20100202986Abstract: A composition comprises a mixture of a silicone and a solvent. The composition further comprises a drug selected from the group of retinoids, retinyls, vitamin A esters, vitamin D analogues, and combinations thereof. The composition further comprises a salt of a dialkyl sulfosuccinate, such as dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (DOSS). The composition yet further comprises and a solubilizer. The salt of a dialkyl sulfosuccinate solubilizes the drug. The solubilizer solubilizes the salt of a dialkyl sulfosuccinate. The composition can be topically applied to a substrate, such as skin, for delivering the drug. Drugs with a wide solubility range are soluble and compatible in the composition without separation or crystallization of the drugs occurring.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2008Publication date: August 12, 2010Inventors: Victor Albert Raul, Linda Sue Nartker, Robert O.
