Abstract: A seat cushion assembly is provided that is specifically designed to alleviate the problems, such as discomfort, pressure sores, pressure ulcers, and hemorrhoids, that are associated with long term sedentary positions (i.e. patients in wheelchairs). The seat cushion assembly of the present invention includes a base having a pair of openings. Cushion inserts are located in the openings. The seat cushion assembly, when in use, provides an individual with an equal amount of pressure distribution in the gluteal region.
