  • Patent number: 11598648
Abstract: A method detects a lane for a transverse guidance of a vehicle. The transverse guidance of the vehicle is based on a roadway model. The method has the steps of ascertaining one or more features which are suitable for influencing the detection of the lane; detecting a lane on the basis of a sensor system of the vehicle; and ascertaining the roadway model on the basis of the detected lane and the ascertained one or more features. The method optionally has the steps of additionally receiving navigation data and transversely guiding the vehicle on the basis of the ascertained roadway model.

  • Patent number: 11600380
Abstract: A decision support tool is provided for predicting a patient's length of stay within a healthcare unit, such as the emergency department. The predicted length of stay may be determined using patient information and facility information, which includes information about the department and the facility in which the department is located. The patient information and the facility information may be used to determine feature values input into a plurality of machine learning models. The models may be used sequentially such that initial models are used to predict variables relating to the patient's length of stay and output of such models is used with a length-of-stay model to determine the predicted length of stay. One or more response actions may be automatically initiated based on the predicted length of stay. Such response actions may include resource management actions to allocate resources within the healthcare unit.

  • Patent number: 11596383
Abstract: A 3D ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system produces 3D display images at a 3D frame rate of display which is equal to the acquisition rate of a 3D image dataset. The volumetric region being imaged is sparsely sub-sampled by separated scanning beams. Spatial locations between the beams are filled in with interpolated values or interleaved with acquired data values from other 3D scanning intervals depending upon the existence of motion in the image field. A plurality of different beam scanning patterns are used, different ones of which have different spatial locations where beams are located and beams are omitted. In a preferred embodiment the determination of motion and the consequent decision to use interpolated or interleaved data for display is determined on a pixel-by-pixel basis.

  • Patent number: 11597404
Abstract: The inventive subject matter provides devices and methods for improving driving safety using information obtained from images taken by a camera in a device. Among other things, contemplated devices and methods can produce alarms when it appear from rates of speed and acceleration/deceleration, that a vehicle will likely go through a red light, or fail to stop or sufficiently slow down at a stop sign. A significant feature of preferred devices and methods is that they are not dependent on WI-FI, cellular, satellite and radio signals, or any other external data transmission, and are not even dependent on speed, acceleration, or other information native to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11600724
Abstract: Semiconductor devices, and more particularly semiconductor devices with improved edge termination structures are disclosed. A semiconductor device includes a drift region that forms part of an active region. An edge termination region is arranged along a perimeter of the active region and also includes a portion of the drift region. The edge termination region includes one or more sub-regions of an opposite doping type than the drift region and one or more electrodes may be capacitively coupled to the drift region by way of the one or more sub-regions. During a forward blocking mode for the semiconductor device, the one or more electrodes may provide a path that draws ions away from passivation layers that are on the edge termination region and away from the active region. In this manner, the semiconductor device may exhibit reduced leakage, particularly at higher operating voltages and higher associated operating temperatures.
