  • Patent number: 9239171
Abstract: A heat rejection system for a solar power collector having an array of heliostat mirrors, the heat rejection system having a rail system supporting the array of heliostat mirrors, the rail system having a plurality of thermally conductive pipes, a reservoir positioned underground and connected to the rail system, a condenser connected to the thermally conductive pipes and the reservoir, and a coolant means circulating through the thermally conductive pipes, condenser and reservoir the heat rejection system operates as closed systems without the consumption of water and returns solar heat to the environment.

  • Patent number: 9029747
Abstract: A solar thermal concentration system has a receiver, a rail system having a plurality of concentric rails circularly disposed about the receiver, a plurality of movable carts connected adjacent one another and spanning two concentric rails of the rail system, motor means on a movable cart dispersed in the plurality of movable carts, a heliostat mirror on a plurality of movable carts, and a controller for tracking the Sun and controlling a position of the array with respect to the receiver and the Sun. The plurality of movable carts over all of the concentric rails define an array of heliostat mirrors having a predetermined arc dimension configured to maximize mirror area based on cosine efficiency principle. Each heliostat mirror and each movable cart having motor means is in communication with the controller for moving the carts and heliostat mirrors with respect to the receiver and the Sun.

  • Publication number: 20070065326
Abstract: A rotary piston (10) that is scalable from nano-scopic to giga-scopic domains and is capable of operating efficiently as a pump, compressor or turbine over a broad range of pressure and volume combinations for a variety of working substances is presented having a stator housing (12) having fixed internal dimensions (14) and being divided into at least one chamber (16) having seal boundaries in communication with a rotor body (26) and a vane body (38) where the vane body (38) is compressible and has a maximum length dimension (50) to create a low friction seal with the fixed internal dimension (14) of the stator housing (12) for the at least one chamber (16).
